The cartoon is a wild exaggeration.

Trump’s only “effort” was to sabotage anyone’s attempts to respond to the pandemic — governors, mayors, CDC advisors, college administrators, school administrators.

    .

And, his ongoing sabotage has been extraordinarily successful — closing in on 200,000 covid deaths.

    .

According to the NYT, the US has had about 145,000 deaths more than we’d have had if our response had been as good as the world wide average number of deaths per/1000 . Of course, if we had been even better than average, we’d have lost fewer. And this was deliberate policy: Pushing the responsibility onto the states and cities meant that the buck didn’t stop at the White House. Of course he also hired only the very best to “help”… people with no experience, no ability and, not much (if any) ability to learn.

“I’d rate it a 10,” Trump said at a White House press briefing Monday when asked by a reporter how he would rate his response to the pandemic. From theHill – Morgan Chalfant 3/16/2020

That must be the ’BOUNCE" he expected after the Republican Convention.

Four gawdawful nights of liddle Donald and the Trump Family to sing his praises. Pence setting a world record uttering “God” and even a few people of color for good measure. I was at a loss for words . . . . . oh here’s one . . .pathetic.

President Donald Trump suggested that people in North Carolina should vote twice in the November election, once by mail and once in person, escalating his attempts to cast confusion and doubt on the validity of the results.

“So let them send it in and let them go vote, and if their system’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote. If it isn’t tabulated, they’ll be able to vote,” Trump said when asked whether he has confidence in the mail-in system in North Carolina, a battleground state.

“If it’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote. If it isn’t tabulated, they’ll be able to vote. So that’s the way it is. And that’s what they should do,” he said.

It is illegal to vote more than once in an election.

Trump says that “No one could have seen this coming” referring to the pandemic. Well, someone did. In December 2014, Obama warned the United States: “There may and likely will come a time in which we have both an airborne disease that is deadly,” Obama said. “And in order for us to deal with that effectively, we have to put in place an infrastructure—not just here at home, but globally—that allows us to see it quickly, isolate it quickly, respond to it quickly, so that if and when a new strain of flu like the Spanish flu crops up five years from now or a decade from now, we’ve made the investment and we’re further along to be able to catch it.” They sat up a White House Pandemic response team, which had clinics worldwide, including the area of China where Covid 19 originated. In 2014 during the Ebola outbreak, They helped create 15 treatment centers in that region, provided supplies, and conducted aggressive contact tracing to limit its spread beyond Western Africa. Only one person in the United States died from Ebola after traveling from West Africa to Dallas, Texas. To help the incoming administration be better prepared to fight future pandemics, officials under President Obama took what they learned from these battles and prepared a 69-page playbook. written by Obama’s National Security Council, which detailed strategies for responding to a potential pandemic.Outgoing Obama administration officials briefed Trump’s top aides on the potential dangers of a pandemic. But the Trump administration ignored the playbook Instead, spending weeks downplaying the virus, which they knew about in late December, spouting rampant misinformation and contradicting their own medical and scientific advisors. They wasted nearly two months needed to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed supplies and equipment. By then, it was too late. Trump likes naming things after himself. This is one he has truly earned— The Trump Plague.

Just think where we could have been if we had elected Democrats since Reagan and Democrats wouldn’t have had to waste their first term cleaning up the mess the last Republican left them.

Trump did not even try to stop covid. 180,000 dead on his watch, going for 2 million deaths with herd immunity.

I believe Trump did everything wrong on purpose to destroy the USA for Putin.
