While I have been to London back in 2012, I have no recollection of being to that square and noticing hippopotamus remains.

(try us, Jason, that you’ve seen some white blood cells live for three days)

Some restaurant patrons eat their meals and leave in less than an hour. Others hang around for seventy-plus years and never order anything.

The hippo was probably on his way to Madagascar but landed in London I guess.

Why would any one want to bury a hippo in Trafalgar Square? Crazy Brits.

I wonder how many people walk in, see all the mannequins, say “this place is too crowded for me”, and turn around and leave.

This all happened due to the sale of baby hippos. Many mothers, disgusted by their pet’s mess, flushed them down the toilet.

Just to be clear, the hippo remains were fossil, not bone. So…prehistoric hippo, probably.

The cells remain in the crystalline lens because it is encapsulated. However, with age they frequently change from crystalline to opaque (cataracts) and are usually surgically removed leaving only the posterior section of the capsule which is used to hold the implanted plastic lenses that restores the patients vision!

And if that mannequin all of a sudden start moving and say “play it again, Sam“, everyone would be running out in an instant. That be a good trick if the customers are hanging around too long.

There was a menagerie at the Tower of London from 1200’s to 1835. Most of the animals didn’t live more than a few years and had to be “disposed” of somewhere. The Royal Zoo was started with the "surviving animals.

If I saw mannequins sitting at a table next to me, I’d think that I was in the Twilight Zone.

Jane Gottlieb’s surname indirectly reminds me, what’s Gilbert Gottfried’s take on “Monster Rancher”’s Suezo (the eye monster mascot), who, in the English-dubbed version of the anime, sounded a lot like him?
