While I have been to London back in 2012, I have no recollection of being to that square and noticing hippopotamus remains.

Some restaurant patrons eat their meals and leave in less than an hour. Others hang around for seventy-plus years and never order anything.

On this day in history, on August 8 1974 President Richard Nixon resigns from the presidency as a result of the Watergate scandal.

This all happened due to the sale of baby hippos. Many mothers, disgusted by their pet’s mess, flushed them down the toilet.
