So, they are also trying to put the farmers out business.

All jokes aside, it would be pretty good if superstores started using green rooftops. They wouldn’t need to be growing produce for it to still have a lot of environmental benefits. Of course, there are lots of other ways superstores could benefit their local environments, but they’d be even harder sells.

Interesting thought, at least to me; Are there any multi-story Walmarts?

Walmart has been here in Coos Bay/North Bend for a long time, a so-called Superstore. It’s pretty far out of town and generates huge traffic. I believe it’s been positive overall for our Bay Area region, management works hard to be a “good citizen,” buyers find what they want/need and the return/exchange policies are appreciated. Personally, I can’t stand the place but I sure don’t begrudge my neighbors shopping there.

the cows will get heatstroke feeding on top of the roof; also any other livestock they may include.

the real top of any walmart is a vast flat horizon covered with squares of air conditioners. Visible via google earth.

Maybe Wal-Mart will supplement its groceries by in-house vertical gardening.

Soybeans on the roof do nothing to save local businesses.

The Local stores could start growing veggies on their rooftops in a Preemptive strike.
