If everyone who loves a dog could have one wish, it would be that their dog could live forever. Kudos to Nelson, he’s a great little cartoon character.
Those of us who receive our medical care from a VA Health Care System are never, ever allowed to forget the horrible suicide statistics amongst our fellow veterans. Our doctors always ask us if we have thoughts of suicide, and if we have weapons in our homes, and printed everywhere is the number of the suicide prevention phone line. For all you commenters here that are responding to this incredibly tragic cartoon statement, there can only be one humane response, and that is concern for your fellow humans who happen to have been wearing the uniform of your country at some point in their lives.
This is such a good reply, Guyjen. I’ve experienced first hand the tragedy of Cuban-trained doctors working in Belize, simply like wage slaves while the Belizian government sends American dollars to Cuba to pay for them. Any American who pimps the public health system in Cuba needs to accept your dare and head off to Cuba for some free medical care and see how they like it. Oh, and they can also enjoy the pleasures of living in a totalitarian regime.
Why are we having this discussion? Everyone commenting is a crime expert, so with all this expertise on display there shouldn’t even be a crime problem.
My two sisters and I hired a chef to come to our parent’s house while we went through everything following their deaths. The furnishings had already gone to an auction house because neither we nor our kids wanted any of the OBS. We set up a long rented table in the garage and were done after one exhausting day and one delicious, 4 course lunch. OBS, that’s Old Brown Sh..uh, Stuff.
Snowpiercer. What a unique, interesting and super violent movie, sort of odd to reference it in a daily comic strip when so few people saw it.
Good anecdotes, mmmmary.
T.A.N.S.T.A.A.F.L. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Robert Heinlein. 1966. Read it in high school and it’s as relevant today as it’s always been.
I boycotted the Pagoda of Peace days ago. I’ll pick up the story line when I don’t see it anymore.
Could not agree more, Neural. Thanks for that, well said.
