My one fault with Hallmark, their use of subjective pronouns as objects of prepositions.

I have pretty much given up regarding the use of third person plural for third person singular (example: they for he or she).

Great. Now I’ve got that April Wine song “Just Between You And Me” stuck in my head.

…and with any luck, so do you…!

That’s what you get, also being that level of pedantic over the “rules” of grammar is rather pointless given how language tends to change over relatively short periods of time.

Listing the vowels in reverse order, Oh falls between You and I.

Star Lord: “Nidavellir? That’s a made up word!”

Thor: “All words are made up.”

I agree with this (although I make a limited exception for onomatopoeia), and the same goes for the rules of grammar. However, I also agree with “If you cannot say what you mean then you will never mean what you say, and a gentleman should always mean what he says” (Reginald Johnston, The Last Emperor).

I love that this strip teaches good grammar! Now can you get people to stop saying shrunk when they mean shrank? It all started with that movie with the terrible title of, Honey I… (not even going to say it) the kids. SHRANK. SHRANK!

Why would there be any offense to Marcy about the choice of diapers? Joe is the one buying them and he is an equal parent. Marcy probably works more hours than Joe does so he may change more diapers.

Rather than having to remember the rule Joe quoted, just ask yourself, would you say “Between us” or “between we”? If it’s “us”, the objective pronoun, then use the objective, “me”. Many people seem to use “I” when the object is more than one person, and will say, “he told Mary and I”, or " he gave it to Mary and I". Just drop “Mary”, and ask yourself, would you say “He told I”?
