Republicans LOVE Government Accountability. When Democrats are in charge. See eight investigations of Benghazi. All of which found no wrongdoing. Of course that was never the point. The point was to stop Hillary from becoming President.
Mike, I’ve read your ’toons long enough that I need to ask: Do you think being an endangered species is a GOOD thing? Is this just “the free market knows best”?
Dictator Donald admin is firing all the inspectors he can because he has so much illegal stuff going on that won’t stand the light of day.
Crooked liar Trump hides everything he can, remember when he promised in the last election to show his taxes? Its going to the Supreme Court because pervert Trump won’t show his taxes. He never proves anything because he is all right wing lies all of the time.
Republican aversion and lies about testing are killing the USA and keeping it locked down.
We have more covid deaths than any other country in the world thanks to the negligent Republican admin of thieves.
Great artwork (as always). The best part of this fiasco is the president or his goons (looking at you, Pompeo) complaining right out loud that the Inspectors General were getting in the way of the administration’s purposes. Well, du-u-u-uh!!
Why balk at yet another firing of another IG? It was a perfect firing of the IG who reluctantly, and later than legally required, finally passed the whistle blower complaint about Trump’s perfect Ukraine phone call to Congress — after illegally consulting the Barr Ministry of Justice.
Especially after all evidence of that perfect call was suppressed in the impeachment ‘trial’.
.
Just go back to your mantra: It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.
On December 7, 2006, the AG Alberto Gonzales during the George Bush administration fired seven US Attorneys who had refused back channel directives from the WH to investigate political opponents of the President. In congressional hearings it was discovered that additional US Attorneys had been dismissed without cause. Because of the blowback, Gonzales accepted total responsibility and resigned August 27, 2007.
Republicans are saying that because the Inspector Generals serve at the pleasure of the President there is nothing wrong with their dismissals. At least back in 2007 not all the Republican senators were corrupt moral cowards.
Michael, would you include some honest government employees for a historical perspective? We didn’t see many of that type government employee survive the previous administration.

Ramirez got it right for a change. There is hope he will become a Republican again instead of being a Trumpist.

The criminal in charge gets to fire all the cops, and Republicans support this.
