Yeah, but “people on Earth” already had to deal with murder hornets. They’re called Asian giant hornets, and are only a “new thing” along the West coast of North America.
The reason that Asian Giant Hornets are called “Murder Hornets” is that they are EXTREMELY dangerous to honeybees and are known to attack hives, kill all the workers, the queen and the brood. I’m not saying that’s not a bad thing, decimating the insects responsible for polinating one’s crops are rarely good. On the bright side, the people of Asia have been dealing with them for a long time and have figured out a few clever ways to deal with them. Better still, our local authorities are taking them seriously. I hope we can keep them from spreading.
Well, 2020 did give us something else to worry about: astronomers found a black hole a mere 1,000 light years away from Earth. It’s been nice knowing all of you.
