Geez, in the factories where I worked, so many “suits” strutted around without safety equipment such as glasses and earplugs — even though wearing them was a clearly posted requirement, and the items were conveniently provided. Sirens, horns — meant little to them. I once had to pull one of the oblivious big shots out of the way as he strolled under a loaded overhead crane. And several times, away from watching the arc of a working welder. How we despised those “suits.” So smart but so stupid.

I loved Pence’s explanation about wanting to look people in the eyes and thank them. If you can’t look someone in the eyes because you’re wearing a mask, you are too stupid to know how to wear a mask. Occam’s razor says he was just lying about why.

The picture at Mayo was at once painful and infuriating. How DARE he stand there with medical personnel and A RECOVERED PATIENT with no mask??!? He was the ONLY ONE IN THE ROOM with no mask.

The Mayo Clinic should have thrown him out on his ass!

This is a demonstration of the fact that the Trump administration is about image and showmanship, not substance. The VP did not dare show up for a photo op with his face covered. We have P. T. Barnum for a president (except that Barnum could speak intelligently). If he were not born into wealth, he would be wearing a plaid sportscoat and selling used cars.

Reported today (May 1) in the Washington Post : “Vice President Pence’s office has threatened to retaliate against a reporter who revealed that Pence’s office had told journalists they would need masks for Pence’s visit to the Mayo Clinic — a requirement Pence himself did not follow.”

If so, what sort of “retaliation” do they have in mind? Aside from the fact that even in normal times lawsuits take too long to be “useful”, it doesn’t appear that the reporter did anything illegal or even actionable.

Oh, wait! Maybe they’re going to pray to (their) God to infect that reporter with the virus?

So we have two Charlatans in the dark house at the same time!
