Re: Church or Cathedral: Wouldn’t that be a steal from the Michael Keaton, Tim Burton first WB Batman movie?
Jack Nicholson stole that show. But then, Joker seems to steal whatever show he’s in. So many favorite lines from that movie. One near the end, when Batman finally corners Joker in the Gotham Cathedral – also abandoned, apparently:
“Now it can truly be said, I have a Bat in my belfry!”
Had panel 2 appeared in Bushmiller’s Nancy strip (which I read ironically of course), someone would’ve complained that the moon could not possible have been in that location at that time of night on that particular day. They’re a peculiar lot those Nancy fans – not like us Tracy fans at all!
Regarding Honeymoon “seeing pictures”… In the regular strip a while ago, Honeymoon was being trained by, and practicing her budding Lunarian psychic abilities with Mysta and has progressed to that point…
Also, in TV shows and movies, a character’s psychic abilities were always shown as filmed episodes and there was a show that starred Gary Collins as a professor and researcher at a college and the opening scene showed a quote on a building from Joel 2:28-29… I forgot the show title…
@Another Take Good point, but maybe the right way to say it is: the moon can be in that location, but the crescent can’t be in that orientation. The sun is below the horizon at night, and the crescent (considered as a rounded arrowhead) always “points” toward the sun.
Just Google “crescent moon at night” and click “images”. All the photos (as opposed to drawings), except those taken by NASA from space, show that the bowl of the crescent is downward.
That aside, I agree: the artwork is nice. The diagonal in panel 1 is effective, and the silhouettes in panel 2 really grabbed me (and their coloring is effective, too—the eye is drawn first to the barrel, then to the two figures).
Plenty of action today! One can’t complain about slow-moving stories when we have the Mysta-Scarmony “no holds barred” match in the abandoned warehouse with the cathedral windows that Honeymoon sees telepathically. And Tracy seems to have a fair idea of where to look for it, as he leads the charge in panel 3 (like Blackhawk used to do regularly with his team in his heyday, while shouting his battle cry, “HAWKAA!”).
I’m with this Minit Mystery. It has pace, art, a wacko villainess—all the wanted ingredients….

Good morning™, visionary readers!
I’m amazed that Honeymoon is seeing pictures. I didn’t think she had that ability.
Tracy’s city sure has a lot of abandoned warehouses.

The architecture reminds me of the police building in “Ironside”, maybe the barrel is the chilli that they ate at just about every meal…

Given Charlie’s R Crumb influence, we can easily guess that panel 4 would’ve had Tracy saying “…another one”

Strangely, this Minute Mystery has both too mcuh going at at once & not enough. This isn’t a story, but ideas tossed out at random.

GoComics on lockdown to prevent the Tracy family from contracting COVID.
It’s already 11 hours past the normal strip posting time and it is nowhere to be found. Look at this
