You know there are successful ‘Medicare for All’ models in the world.Like here is socialist Australia. Horrendous living here. With all this socialism like holidays, generous maternity leave, minimum wage of $15, free medical. Just awful. Oh… my bad. All the major Australian cities are in the worlds top 20 best places to live… with Melbourne number 1. Again. Now let’s talk about Nordic countries. Socialist backwaters all of them.

Yes, by all means, let’s prioritize Wall Street over a program that would allow currently uninsured people to go to a doctor if they actually did catch the Coronavirus. This cartoon perfectly encapsulates the values of the current Republican Party. It is inadvertently excellent.

It’s funny how conservatives who are against Medicare, gun control, social services and environmental protections call themselves “pro life” just because the oppose letting women do what they want with their own bodies.

How dare they provide coverage for all. Don’t you realize only people of means deserve good health coverage? The rest can just help reduce the overpopulation of the planet by rabble.

It is better that the plague spread than people get healthcare. Besides as Trump says Coronavirus is a Democrat plot and fake news. /s

Yeah. Our Congressmen and Senators hate it. It’s awful. That’s why they voted to give it to themselves in perpetuity. Because they’re all about suffering for us.

I’m surprised at how quiet Pelosi has been on the issue of single payer health care considering she cosponsored H.R. 1300 a single payer program in 1991 that laid out a comprehensive path with well thought out methods of payment. It would have eliminated a number of other programs actually saving Americans and the feds money. Of course it was shut down by the Repugs owned by the insurance lobbies and others. But maybe the time is right to revisit if it will save lives and money in the long term.

Mmmm…smell that desperation. Mikey of course, knows full well why the stock market’s tanking right now, but he’s happy to play along, since he probably also knows full well that Trump’s response to the coronavirus will likely make things much worse – for both the containment and the economy.

But mostly, guys like Ramirez will happily scrape the bottom of the barrel for excuses and diversions to rail against single-payer because they’re terrified of one thing: that it’ll work.

The white swan harbingers of global economic crisis are already here by Nouriel Roubini

Seismic risks for the global system are growing, not least worsening US geopolitical rivalries, climate change and now the coronavirus outbreak

This is basically Trump’s talking point. Conservatives used it in 2004 on Fox News (if the markets went down, “it’s because Wall Street is afraid of a Kerry victory.”) Seriously, please stop all of us here know that you are wrong. You aren’t accomplishing anything.

Try migrating to Australia. One thing you guys are going to learn one day. Things like Medicare for all are at odds with things like open borders. That is a little secret your representatives and senators are not telling you. Ask anyone from Northern Europe Australia or New Zealand.

Easy inexpensive access to health care will  have an impact on Wall Street. First, there will be a sell off from panic. Then we’ll see a sell off of stock in Big Pharma companies who will have to figure out how to live with a sane amount of profit. Same for health insurance companies. Shortly after that, there’ll be a drop in the value of low to mid-priced retail sales as all those now unnecessary clerks lose their jobs and start scrimping a bit. Then things will pick up again as folks start doing work that actually adds value  to the economy. And finally, we’ll enter an era where we’re actually saving enough money that used to be given to for-profit health “providers” so we can spend it on things that are good for us, the nation and (thus) the economy… and the numbers will start to rise again.

Republicans want to destroy Medicare, they don’t care about the health care of Americans. Poor people have to go to work sick.

Medicare for all is a bad idea. There are many people in America who simply don’t DESERVE good health care.

Let’s distract from the real facts that the White House is totally unprepared and put a fool in charge of the response. The market is crashing because of Rump. Today’s dead cat bounce won’t be around tomorrow.

The stock market is definitely opposed to a healthy populace. People living longer just means more social security payments.

I do wonder what will happen on Wall Street when some of the traders contract the COVID-19 infection.

Have they even thought about the possibility that they might have to do something differently to prevent its spreading to all of them?
