I had chest pains. Went to the local ER. Had scans, blood tests, x-rays and saw 2 specialists. Was in hospital overnight for observation. Was given prescription for medication and released the next morning. Cost? Zero. In Australia we have access to the best medical care anyone could hope for. We all pay a Medicare levy as part of our tax. Happily. No-one ever gets bankrupted for being sick or injured in Australia. We are democratic country following economic principles based on capitalism. Not socialist or any other such nonsense. We simply see health as a fundamental right.
