GOP seems to be very good at blaming other people for what they’re doing. Aka “projection”. The last time I thought it would work when I tried that, my age was still in single digits. And it was only another year or two before I just gave it up.
What this nation needs is more people like my mother was: Sees all, smells people thinking about doing something wrong, and tolerates no bs.

… And on the last day of the Uncreation of America, the Lord McGoddell smirked upon all the work he had been undoing, and commanded, “Let there be dark!”
If by some accident the “Republicans” were able to morph America into a theocratic white evangelical monoculture and expel all the minorities and unbelievers; who, then, would they have to blame when things went wrong?
Right wing insanity. Republicans are backing liar Trump who has told over 16,000 lies. They want a false government where they can do their crimes in the open and no one will stop them. They want you to believe their anti-Constitution behavior is just find and dandy and the destruction of the American government is what you voted for.
Republicans won’t present evidence or witnesses, they are liars with crimes to hide.

Conservative pundit Michael Gerson: The question at stake in the Senate trial is plain: Is the use of public funds as leverage to gain private political benefits from a foreign government an impeachable abuse of presidential power? The matter is so simple that Trump’s defenders are reduced to babbling incoherence in order to avoid it. […] White House lawyers have declared impeachment to be a “brazen and unlawful attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election.” But the Founding Fathers SPECIALLY [emphasis mine] included an impeachment provision in the Constitution to overturn an election when the president engages in misconduct and betrays the public trust.
A bit off the topic of the toon, but Trump’s constant praising of his phone call (YOU know the one I mean, the one involving extortion and bribery) as “perfect” kind of bugs me. No call between two humans can be “perfect”! Now, if Jesus Christ happened to butt dial the Holy Spirit…….
It’s an attack job the same way that Al Capone’s investigation and trial was an attack job. Of course Al Capone didn’t have the option of appointing his own preferred Attorney General and having an opinion from the Department of Justice that he couldn’t be indicted.

Projection – {3 beats/line, then 4}
Psychologists call it “projection”,
when your foibles you say are in others.
In Trumpists’ rhetoric, this mis-direction
is deliberately a fib to elicit rejection
of opponents whose notions don’t fit their own ‘druthers.

I love that the term “gaslighting” has been popularly revived to describe this
deceptive technique. This… I’m Not Crazy, You Are! …psychological torture.
If you’ve seen it, the 1944 Bergman/Boyer/Cotten film imprints its creepy
paranoia to make the expression coldly vivid. There’s a play too, but the movie,
I think, is better.

All Republicans, since they won’t openly defend our nation, are guilty of Trump’s crimes against us, we the people.
