How much hog would a groundhog grind if a groundhog could grind hog?

…at least from the chipmunk’s point of view.

The cat we had when I was a teenager had a unique hunting style. He figured out there were two exits to the chipmunk’s burrow. The cat watched one, and sat on the other.

Yeah, ask the groundhogs used in some of those festivals if they think it’s a whimsical respite.

I had no idea chipmunks lived in burrows! The two Warner Brothers chipmunks – the painfully polite ones – didn’t, did they?

Hmmm. Groundhog. Them’s good eatin’.

And chipmunks make a great appetizer.

I think of chipmunks as mice with racing stripes.

thank for the laugh. Reminds me of a former cat roommate. Tizzy was nearly blind, deaf and arthritic, but damn she could kill chipmunks. All the frikkin time.

My cat plays with the chipmunks and I used to be concerned until I looked out one day and saw the chippy chasing the cat. Can’t be too bad!!

We have 3 local groundhogs that are dragged on Feb 2 – 2 went for short winter, one for long.

We go to a festival in Kutztown, PA in July that is heavy on the crafts, but also in general on the Pennsylvania Germans (beyond the Amish and Mennonites). A group that sets up every year is a local ground hog men’s lodge. Apparently the idea of the ground hog and spring comes from German traditions.
