His testimony was a PR disaster. No matter what he was asked, his replies all fell into a single category of response. Samples…

What about non-citizen Obama’s birth in Kenya?

What about Hillary and that pizza pedophilia ring?

What about the mass shooting hoaxes to promote gun control?

What about Ukraine’s interference with the 2016 elections?

Why all the hostility toward our valued allies like Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, North Korea?

In the dismal aftermath, he couldn’t understand his failure. Everyone, friend and foe alike, had said if he testified, he’d be putting himself in legal jeopardy.

So he had given every reply in the form of a question.

    What went wrong?

Trump and his lawyers at the time had a practice session role-playing his possible testimony to Mueller – and his lawyer stated that Trump was categorically unable to avoid lying, and therefore any testimony would result in perjury.

Trump testified in writing – but only after his lawyers thoroughly checked and revised his testimony to restrain it to lies that couldn’t be easily detected.

And now that written testimony is being sought by the House impeachment inquiry, because with all the new information being uncovered it’s likely that Trump’s under-oath written testimony can be shown to contain multitudinous lies.

The psychopath is a coward. He’ll never testify in person. He’d get chewed up very badly, and he knows it.

His cowardice is exemplified in his inability to fire anyone face-to-face. He’s NEVER done that. Not even though it was his signature line in his tv show.

Which is a very small window into the centrality of his cowardice within the larger psychopathy of malignant narcissism. His cowardice is due to his massive insecurity as a human. He IS COMPELLED by his mental illness to protect his fragile ego in any way he deems “necessary”. The cowardice is closely coupled to his self-loathing. He needs to think of himself as a strong, virile, masterful fighter. In truth, he’s a weakling who is COMPELLED to lie, cheat, bully, and do ANYTHING to prove to others that he’s really a tough guy. Psychopathy on display!! Again!!!

But the truth is he’s a coward, and will NEVER stand up for himself under direct questioning.

It was suggested by someone else that Pelosi should call him out on his cowardice by stating the Hillary testified in person to the regressives for, what, 12 hours of relentless and aggressive abuse, with a big nothingburger at the end of it all.

If Pelosi were to point out his cowardice while comparing it to HRC’s stand-up testimony, it would be interesting to see him squirm while his lawyers vehemently tried to prevent him from testifying.

But it would be fun to watch the bozo implicate himself on national TV.

Maybe then we really could get rid of the lying racist crooked Republican.

Yeah, I’ll bet he stood by that offer all of 7.3 seconds.

I have to disagree with something John Dean said in an interview the other day when comparing Nixon’s character to Trump’s. He said Nixon had a sense of shame and could be embarrassed, but that he’d never seen Trump be embarrassed. But Dean errs assuming his familiarity with Trump is comparable to what he experienced firsthand with Nixon, and that clearly isn’t the case.

I agree with the former White House legal counselor in saying Donald Trump has no shame, in the sense he has a greatly diminished — if not wholly crippled — capacity to recognize right from wrong. And although the current White House occupant is unlike any previously in that respect, I believe he’s very much like any 12-year-old in that he’s keenly sensitive to embarrassment and has, in effect, conducted himself throughout life, both psychologically and behaviorally, in all-out warfare against embarrassment. I’m convinced the man lives in constant, unrelenting terror of being embarrassed, and will stop at nothing to keep it at bay.

Thought experiment: the Lord God says to Trump, “I will ask you ONE question. Doesn’t matter what it is. If you lie to me you will die instantly, and you will go to Hell. If you tell the truth, you will live out your normal (to use the term loosely in your case) lifespan. Of course, to avoid Hell, you will have to cure all known diseases, invent a few more, and THEN cure THEM. To have an outside chance of avoiding eternal damnation.” The Lord God asks His question. Does ANYBODY who has even ever almost kind of HEARD of Trump think he would answer honestly?

Donald Trump has exceeded 12,000 lies or distortions in his slightly over 1000 days in office – I suspect his goal, here, is 15,000 by the end of his first term – a very “doable” goal!

I would also point out that , for what ever it’s worth, that the “do nothing” Congress to which Trump continually refers is a “do nothing” Congress primarily because Addison Mitchell McConnell Jr. is currently sitting on and therefore blocking upwards of 300 pieces of legislation forwarded to the Senate from the House of Representatives!

Moscow Mitch is blocking ANY legislation the he deems the “president” would fail to approve from even reaching the Senate floor.

Donald John Trump is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the American polity! Moscow Mitch is an even greater danger, long-term to America!

It is incumbent on all right-thinking Americans to end both America’s shame by electing a Democrat to the Presidency and end America’s paralysis by electing a democratic Senate. Both actions are required to purge American politics of the overt Russian contagion affecting our politics!

The Weasel’s about as likely to testify at the impeachment hearings as he is to release his taxes. The Kangaroo Supreme Court is investigating what to do with Trump’s request to kill the subpoena to produce them. (In others words the Republicans on the Court are looking for a somewhat credible way to ditch the subpoena.)
