Mr. Lester, several other conservative cartoonist, and the whole GOP are making every attempt to not move past the act of a phone call and not to the actual content of the phone call.

It is NOT that “he made a phone call”. It IS what lead up to it and what he said. Of course, how he’s acted lend support for the motion.

The phone call, the phone call…here’s what trumpy does: he lifts something out of context, then repeats and repeats it to his supporters (Mr. Lester et al) until they lap it up like a kitten with fresh cream. In this case, yes, Biden, as well as every other western power at the time (2015) , saw that the man “investigating” the corruption in Ukraine was doing less than nothing, and he demanded they get rid of him. And get someone better, which is what happened in 2016. There is NO evidence, nothing that points to Hunter Biden, no, trumpy manages to pick this one thing out, and use it to justify his own blatant corruption, coercion, collusion, co-idiocy. Lester may have a head full of political propaganda and disinformation which has accumulated over decades, but other than calling him names. What has the Democratic party done that has effectively changed minds and unified our country? America was not designed to be divided catering to one political base or another, but to be self-governed by a compromising, cooperative UNIFIED people with common goals — not 2 half-baked sets of goals — working to build a better stronger nation. The founders knew of the problems that arise with political parties and you will find no reference to parties in the Constitution. Republicans have a different set of priorities and those priorities must be respectfully addressed to have any meaningful influence. I am an old social progressive and fiscal conservative that cannot identify with any political party that tries to divide America. Taking sides, allowing exclusions and obstructions are not good ways to build a strong unified nation.

It’s interesting how many of us use the ‘shoot someone on 5th Ave.’ example in this case. With that phone call he was shooting all of America.

This is like a defense lawyer in a murder trial saying all the defendant did was move his finger. It may have been on the trigger of a handgun, but all he did was move his finger, are you going to punish people for finger movement?

Trying to make his crime look innocuous and insignificant? Who cares if it was phone call, email, or whispers under he blanket? The content is what matters, and that my be actionable.One of the ways to tell if folks have solid grounds for complaint is when Lester et al portray them as being hysterical.

I am so disappointed in the commenters here today, and so surprised to see Mike Lester turning President Trump. If you recall this scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail the accused witch went through the legal process and was proved to be a witch (because she weighed the same as a duck.) Mike Lester, I thank you for being one of the first Republicans to call for the President to go through the impeachment process.
