guess he’s going to end up at a fraction which is 1 over 2 raised to some integer. It’s really not what scientific notation is, strictly speaking, which is when we express a large number in terms of powers of 10.

Of course coach knows scientific notation. He’s probably also a teacher at the school, maybe even a math teacher.
