There is no greater gift than a row of coconut sized night works in tubes and a launch system. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

I’ve heard that some people who are born near Xmas have a half-birthday celebration in the summer. So why can’t we have Half_Xmas in July. Of course since it’s Half_Xmas your stocking would only be half-full and you’d only get half the number of presents. But not to worry. You’ll get the other half at Xmas! But then that would mean that you’re only going to get half a stocking and half the usual number of presents at Xmas. NEVER MIND.

Festivus for the rest of us. We can have a pole, airing of grievances and feats of strength and everything.

If you have a summer birthday, that works. Bad luck for those born in December.

In the spirit of celebrating our cultures’ greed and selfishness, I declare July 22 to be Gimme Day

Now Gimme stuff, like that giant inflatable coffee cup pool

I once got a sled for my birthday, in mid July. “Well, it was on sale!” It hung in the garage till winter.

I’ve read that Jesus was more likely born in August than in December, based on some details in the gospel story.

Just move south of the equator…

Why is it that so many seem to forget the seasons are reversed (to our way of thinking) if you just go far enough south. While I have only traveled extensively north of the equator, I have never forgotten that there is an entire half of our world that exists south of it… just ask someone from Brazil or Australia.

And xmas is an entirely made up holiday anyway. It’s just the xtians hijacking yet another Pagan festival, despite what they want everyone to believe.

But then we’d have to deal with 4th of July ads in February.

Christ was supposedly born in the summer, so that deserves a true party, don’t you think?
