He wants to see you in the tiny swimsuit but he doesn’t want you to die of cancer. His love for you won over his lust for you. Isn’t that sweet? Still getting that tan? Ah, you may be sorry in a few years.

Arlo should watch her all day, to make sure she doesn’t burn. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Talk her INTO a tiny swimsuit. Followed by: Talk her OUT of a tiny swimsuit! ;-)

The way this year is going, It will be September before it gets warm enough for me to start getting a tan. By then, it will be too late. Going to Florida soon. Perhaps I can get a tan there. Of course, that will wear off pretty quick if it still isn’t hot enough to wear shorts and tank tops where I live now.

Other people need their illusions, unlike those of us who are still young, handsome and virile.

    Yeah, those OTHER people…

When you have to have little pieces cut out of your skin – you think twice about a TAN. Funny how it seems almost like tanning – " the process of creating leather".

I stopped trying to tan when I was a teenager. I burned every time, think I got a lot of my great-grandmother’s one generation off the boat from Ireland genes. I do have red highlights in my natural hair colour, and my skin is pale.

I was never so glad that I gave up when I saw my aunt at Granny’s 100th birthday party. She’d lived in California for years and always tanned. Her skin looked like old shoe leather :/ Not that I said a thing to her, I love her too much. She’s gone now, a couple of years before Mom. I’m not too sure that the tanning didn’t play a part in it

What is it with the tanning thing. I understand the deep rooted desire to look as good as possible, but if only people would give up the idea that a tan is “healthy” looking. If Janis wants to get a tan now at her age, and only does it occasionally (like on vacation) it shouldn’t hurt. Skin damage occurs over long periods of time of exposure. Skin cancer is mostly caused by the hours you spent in the sun as a child and young adult. I am a prime example of a light skinned lady who tanned/burned a lot as a teen. I got skin cancer from it, and thankfully lived to tell about it. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Conflicting viewpoints. Janis will be spending a lot of time at the dermatologist office in a few years. Actinic keratosis (pre-cancer) Basal and Squamous cell (skin cancer) removal each year. I’ve been doing it for the past three years on an annual visit and I didn’t spend that much time in the sun but was fair skinned.

Tans are not a sign of health. It is a sign of too much sun.

The Mrs is a ginger. When she goes out into the sun she is fully covered and sometimes even wears gloves when she’s in her vintage clothing to complete the look.
