I can’t find the Bob Ross quote about how you should paint trees straight up and down and not at an angle because then it’s like a 60 miles-per-hour windstorm is blowing through the forest, but, uh, you get the idea. You know, the happy little trees.
Nancy is a “Jackson Pollock” or perhaps a “Pablo Picasso” in training! She is changing the dynamics of the art scene and creating a new art movement! But, will the art/gym teacher understand and realize how she has moved or shifted art from what it was to a new way of how it can be?!?!
Perhaps Olivia is using the voice of Nancy today to speak of the value of the simplicity of her chosen artistic style for the comic? We already have seen instances of more elaborate drawing from Olivia, so the idea that her simpler drawings are purposeful and mean something well beyond their mere image is intriguing.
Perhaps in the same way Hemingway used conciseness of language to make his writing so powerful….. perhaps Jaimes is using the simpler renderings of her images to amp up the power of her art? I actually do tend to think there are similarities.

What’s Nancy got against the tree to attack it so thoroughly?

We now know Nancy will not grow up to be a telemarketer.

Ms. Jaimes also nailed the problem with much literature and poetry.

Maybe if she put a little star on what she wanted me to see and maybe a few colored lights, I might be able to figure it out.

Love that Nancy is taking all the art critics to school on this one.

Still in my queue.
Still liking it.
Still think that this Nancy is far closer to the original than the previous one was.

I believe that this is one of those strips where Ms. Jaimes is speaking directly to us, the readers.
