What’s it say ’bout little crazy-haired goldfinches in there?

That’s not the Old Testament book of Proverbs Snoopy was reading, was it?

“two pennies”? I have read the Bible a few times – especially Matthew, and I believed it was supposed to be either “a penny” or “a copper coin”, which is generally used. However, I do see “farthing” as an alternative. The original must be some older, less valuable coin of Biblical times, I assume.

However, here it seems Snoopy has a text that overvalues the sparrows!

“Birds of the air” does not apply to sadly flightless Woodstock.

Calm down Woodstock. God can be a bird: “He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust…” Psalm 91:4a

Just skip the pages that are disturbing, Snoopy.

Birds were sacrificed by the droves back then. Woodstock should be worried.

A Bible toting Beagle, I love it, and the just should live by faith.

Woodstock does not seem bothered by the idea of sparrows being sold, just that they go for less than a human.

Ha! The good old days when someone could quote the Bible and not have a bunch of folks have a meltdown.

Well, Woodstock doesn’t have the potential to doom the world.

Snoopy—go back to the classic by Miss Helen Sweetstory, “The Six Bunny-Wunnies and the Female Veteranarian.”

Snoopy don’t be mean to/tease Woodstock – Matthew 10:29 a couple of verses before what you are reading says 29 Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. (NLT) God (Father reference here) knows even what happens to His sparrows. The insinuation of Jesus’ words are that if God is concerned and knows about what happens to sparrows (that most ‘people’ feel have less value than humans) he will certainly be concerned about humans and what happens to them.

Woodstock is bummed out, because Snoopy is reading about the worthlessness of birds. Snoopy should be bummed, too. He’s a dog, and not human, whom the text is referring to. So, dogs are down on that low list, also.

Trip: I agree. Different world back then. Cartoons were fun and not hateful.

I shared this to the timeline of a dear friend who had an accident involving a semi that had stooped in the middle of the road. When he wakes from his coma he will see how loved he is. He has been in a coma for over a week and a half. No broken bones, one clavicle fracture and damage to his brain. His dad has been at his bedside this whole time plus today is the dad’s birthday. Some sparrows are worth more than others. And some people are worth less than any sparrow.

I’m pretty sure I’m getting this wrong, but… perhaps Woodstock is afraid of getting sold.
