He’s always been a big fat zero… I knew when he was just a little nothing that he’d never amount to anything.

But the audience shouldn’t be afraid…

A number “x” zero = nothing. But he’s got an axe is funnier!

He apparently was skimming in a numbers racket and the boss wanted him taken out.

Think how all the real numbers must have felt when someone introduced a 0 (zero) to them. it turned their whole universe upside down.

Since the 0 present is still active, I’d say not murder so much as assimilation. Tho it could be both if the 0 is undead.

any number multiplied by 0 equals zero. Ergo… The 9 is about to be “murdered” or eliminated.

Any number times zero is zero, but I forget the proof … I’m no Einstein, but was a math major and EE, retired 17 years and can’t remember to flush the toilet.

No… 9×0 = 0, so the listener didn’t rate the performer as worth anything at all. There’s the humour…

I assume a lot of math geniuses read comics so let me throw this out: is there a math system in which every number times zero does not equal zero? I never could figure the logic, in a number system that has negative numbers and imaginary numbers, of why 1×0 is the same as 2×0, 3×0, etc.

Why is 0-1, 0-2, 0-3 all different, i.e., -1,-2,-3, but 0×1, 0×2, 0×3, the same?

Multiplying by “0” is okay, just don’t try dividing by zero.

Dont worry. That nine wont be hurt. It will just turn into a zero.
