When my son was in college he’d sometimes “crash” in the downstairs playroom with his friends, an R-Rated movie and a couple six packs of beer( worked out to 2 beers per person). Each boy checked his car keys at the door with the understanding that he’d be spending the night.
Another house rule was if there was to be any cigar smoking, not matter how cold it was, the windows must be wide open. The fad did not last long with them.
Since I quit smoking 38 years ago, the smell of cigarette smoke makes me want to hurl. Interestingly, though, I still enjoy the smell of a good cigar, and love the smell of a pipe – but only outdoors at a distance! (And not enough to make me want to fire one up.)
I was driving home and smelled a trash fire. It got stronger, and I recognized that somebody had lit an “aroma del baño”. I looked around and saw the puffs of smoke coming from the car 50 yards in front of me. That was a great cigar.
Subjecting your loved ones (including pets) to secondhand smoke is one of the easiest ways to ensure they get cancer. And it’s not just the smoke…the cumulative exposure to carcinogens that build up in the furniture, etc can also cause cancer. I know three cats that died young of lymphoma as a result of using cat trees that had been in a smoker’s apartment. It’s an awful way to go. Smokers are selfish butts.

Remember the cigar fad back in the early-to-mid 90s?… I was all of four or five years old when it ended, and I still remember it. Ugh.

Didn’t Andy bother to tell Roger what “aroma del baño” means? I mean, a cigar smells bad enough on its own without being scented like that.

No cigar is worth your marriage, Roger—-or worth anything else for that matter!

“MY house”??? Is she paying for everything, or did she inherit it?

I enjoy a good cigar. Like my pipe, I go outside or to my workshop to enjoy them. A good maduro has a pleasantly earthy aroma.

Isn’t he a bit old to be falling for peer pressure?

That would be a little close to the house for me….If there is one thing I really do hate, it’s the smell of cigars.
