John Glynn’s name is one letter off from a famous astronaut.

John Glynn, the beer-swilling, Bieber-loving, Godfather III fanboy syndicate head? Or John Glynn, the syndicate head who lets Cartoon Boy get away with this stuff?Do we get to vote on this?

Pearls was really funnier (for me) before Pastis started using himself so much as a character.

Kaputnik: I agree. Two of the best characters duck and the cat never seem to appear anymore. The Crocs became old and tired a long time ago for me.

I miss Whose Line … and Trust us with your life that appeared briefly afterward. Colin, Wayne Brady, Ryan Stiles, and the others were great.

I’m betting John P. McMeel fines this very entertaining, funny, comical, humorous, lighthearted, jocular, witty, mirthful, hilarious, droll, and amusing!

I quit reading those comics that offend me, e.g. Rose is Rose, Stone Soup, Non Sequitur, Doonesbury, for Better or Worse. Don’t care for the political-correctness. “Pearls” is maybe the best of what a comic strip should be – loud and boorish, occasionally a little bit naughty, and generally original.

Interesting to look at John Glynn syndicate executive on Google images and see how close to the mark Pastis got on his portrait. Also interesting to see how some other cartoonists worked Glynn in. He must be a beloved figure . . . or not?

Compared to other comic strips, Pastis is considered “edgy.” But then compared to other mediums, Stephan best puts it himself that he’s like “Captain Kangaroo.”I forget where I read that but Captain Kangaroo has stuck.
