that a mild assessment. I’m sure behind the scenes the team that thought that was a good Idea are black-balled from any high-profile marketing projects for the rest of their careers.
I think it’s Wiley being stuck on the classic “if you made money, you had to have stolen it from someone else” anti-capitalism screed he’s been on the whole time I’ve read this strip
since everyone else is overanalyzing thing…I’ll pick this baton up and say at least they’re enjoying the conversation and handling the discussion with maturity and good humor both.
I could just keep it simple and share 2 things I say when asked 1) I am supporting more voices in the conversation, but become insufferable about it and you’ll wear out your welcome quickly. 2) if your ENTIRE identity rotates around who you go to bed with at night or where your skin tone falls…maybe you need to step back for a moment and figure what other things people should know you for.
Diverse and woke are two different things although the “woke” contingent will use the term diverse when they are caught actually being exclusionary and as racists as any Neo-Nazi. This strips diversity is more natural than the force-it- down “all of race X is bad because they are race X” you will see in a lot of modern media. But, I’m also one of those nasty, nasty race X people so maybe you shouldn’t listen to me.
you are getting to deep in the weeds there…a student doesn’t have to know about their entire body of study to be already aware of practical privacy and ethics concerns as well as how to apply them. Bern took this in confidence as a friend but also thinking like a therapist so if she is doing this as both she should be considering that implication at the same time.
if Bern is too conditional about her ethics just because she “isn’t a therapist yet”, then she doesn’t need to be a therapist…it’s not a job you can selectively ignore when it suits you.
