I once bought a large watermelon and started to cut in full view of my neighbors. All the children in two trailer parks converged on my suddenly seemingly less sufficient melon.
I had to try, so I cut and cut the cuts and cut the cut cuts. And I handed out pieces and more pieces. Several asked for and received several.
Then they thanked me and left. I still somehow had plenty for me and not a child still asking.

If cut into six, four slices for Earl and two for Opal? If eight, six for Earl and two for Opal?

Slicing the pizza seems pointless since it seems Grandpa wants the whole thing.

Earl is borrowing from Yogi Berra, who said “Cut the pizza into 6 slices. I don’t think I could eat 8.”

Microwave Pizza? Ugh. Just put some ketchup and cheese on the placemat and eat that.

Oven mitts? Apron to Nuke a pizza? No place mats in 4th panel? No water glasses on table? Commercial size microwave?

Good thinking Earl. That way Opal can have her normal 3 pieces leaving you with 5

Cut it in little pieces, Opal, and stuff it where the monkey put the peanut. Then call out for a real pizza. Microwave pizza? An abomination.

I used to work in a pizza place. our most often asked question was “how many slices in a medium?” I would reply “As many as you want.”

For some reason, MN style pizza is cut in squares instead of isosceles triangles.

I’m glad I read these comments so I know how old and stupid this joke is and that I shouldn’t laugh at it.

slicing a microwave pizza in to any slices that is more than half is a waste. them things are barely 2 slices when whole.
