I have been impressed with the Republicans that have testified in the January 6th hearings. They have displayed honesty, patriotism, and courage. Those are qualities I believed to be in very short supply in the Republican Party. Without those Republicans, Trump’s coup would have succeeded. And, there were enough of them who, even under extreme pressure from Trump’s White House and harassment from crowds of his supporters, upheld their responsibilities, putting their country and their own moral code over the demands of the MAGAts in the Republican party. If they had followed the demands of the MAGAts, we would be living in a Trump dictatorship, with little possibility that he wouldn’t have consolidated power from that point. They literally saved our Democracy.

Amazes me to see how many sickening sycophants grovel before this two bit tyrant. We may for the moment be the land of the free, but “home of the brave”? Only two republican congress persons have found the courage to join the Democrats in the effort to maintain some semblance of democracy. When Florida shafted Al Gore, all was lost. We are living in a long twilight, and it’s coming to an end soon – probably this coming November.

Star Trek has been a part of American culture for over 54 years.

The Confederacy only existed for 4 years.

That means Star Trek is a big part of our history and we should make statues of Mr Spock. “Live long and prosper.”

Feds raid home of former Trump DOJ official who wanted agency to declare election illegitimate

Federal law enforcement officials have raided the home of former Trump Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark, who pushed to have the department formally declare that the results of the 2020 election were illegitimate.

ABC News reports that federal agents conducted a search of Clark’s home in Virginia on Wednesday morning, just one day before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riots was due to highlight his role in the attempt to overturn the election.

The FBI’s Investigation Into the Fake Trump Elector Scheme Is Heating Up

Federal law enforcement has subpoenaed multiple people connected to the illegal plot, and on Wednesday seized the cell phone of the chairman of the Nevada GOP

Federal agents served multiple subpoenas on Wednesday morning related to the investigation of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. FBI officials confirmed to The Washington Post that law enforcement had contacted several individuals who agreed to participate in schemes by the Trump campaign to secure a slate of fake Electoral College electors in an effort to keep Trump in power despite his loss in the 2020 presidential election.

FBI agents subpoenaed David Schaffer, Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, as well as Brad Carver, a Georgia lawyer who falsely attested to being a “duly elected and qualified” Electoral College elector. Carver is one of 16 signatories on a document now being investigated by the Department of Justice.

Nevada’s 8 News Now reported later on Wednesday that authorities also seized the cell phone of Nevada Republican Chairman Michael McDonald as part of their investigation into the fake electors. In Dec. 2020, 8 News Now reported that six Nevada GOP electors signed paperwork pledging support for Donald Trump. The ceremonial signing coincided with the state’s official tally to determine the distribution of electoral votes.

Agents conducted court-authorized law enforcement activity Wednesday morning at different locations, FBI officials confirmed to The Washington Post. One was the home of Brad Carver, a Georgia lawyer who allegedly signed a document claiming to be a Trump elector. The other was the Virginia home of Thomas Lane, who worked on the Trump campaign’s efforts in Arizona and New Mexico. The FBI officials did not identify the people associated with those addresses, but public records list each of the locations as the home addresses of the men.

Among those who received a subpoena Wednesday was David Shafer, the chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, who served as a Trump elector in that state, people familiar with the investigation said. Shafer’s lawyer declined to comment.

Separately, at least some of the would-be Trump electors in Michigan received subpoenas, according to a person who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. But it was not immediately clear whether that activity was related to a federal probe or a state-level criminal inquiry.
