So much talent—look at those power lines, and the fire hydrant—wasted in such a small, deceptive brain! And to top it off, while placing lies in a child’s mouth, he doesn’t even have the courage to make her Black.

Ramirez turns the sound off to listen to Democrats. He also uses a party cheat sheet to listen to republicans.

I have friends who were injured in foreign countries which have universal health care, and they were not charged anything for health services or medication. Other countries do this successfully

    By gum, we’re letting U.S. citizens die because they can’t afford health care. Let those illegals suffer the same fate! {SARCASM ALERT}

Be patient. The GOP will astound us with private insurance the is so affordable that we can have 100% access and it will be the lowest per capita cost instead of the highest in the world and of the highest quality. Just trust them. This time it will be different. They’ve just been waiting for the right time.

Next up: Ramirez publishes a list of countries that have single payer and also have abolished private insurance.

Spoiler alert — it is a short list.

The real question is what will Michael Ramirez do when he grows up. He needs to quit this cartooning gig and become a full-time flack for the Republican party. ASAP.

What Michael Ramirez wants when he “grows up” is to be able to tell even bigger lies about what other people have said and that he can learn to imagine even more wildly what he wishes they would think.

Ramirez is back into his usual groove. Too bad.

Y’know every other advanced nation in the world sees to it that its citizens (and visitors) have inexpensive health care. Every single one, except the USA. And if you pay attention to outcomes, the US beats those other nations in only three categories that I know of:

1: We have slightly fewer thromboses following some kinds of surgery.

2: We have slightly fewer lethal strokes and second heart attacks following a heart attack.

3: We pay a lot more individually and as a society.

… It’s almost as though the US isn’t actually an advanced nation…

How ridiculously silly to assert that she wants to give your private insurance to someone else. Um, hello: Private health insurance has premiums that need to be paid! I don’t expect logic from the right, but I do expect at least moderately coherent illogic from Ramirez. Tut tut.

It’s true that once you have a single-payer system in place, it’s hard to figure out how to actually require payment from anyone but the single source. And fortunately, most illegals are here to work, so they’re paying taxes, FICA etc right along with legals, so whatever revenue stream goes to paying for health care will have been at least partly filled by them.

Harris is almost certainly out of the running. I see this developing into a showdown between Sanders, Warren and Biden. The center left will support Biden (if he stops shifting left) and the socialist wing will split between Warren and Sanders.

If it comes down to a brokered convention (Sanders refuses to drop out) it is difficult to predict who the Dem candidate will be. If Sanders endorses Warren, Biden is toast. If not, Biden will come out of the convention as the Dem candidate.

    Or not.

No one is taking away private health insurance. Just like no one is coming to take guns away.

Ramirez must have aspired to be a liar. Along with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump, etc.

If you like VA health care or have ever waited in line in Great Britain served by the NHS you wouldn’t be so cavalier about this joke, it isn’t a joke it is frightening to those who have experienced this……there is a reason Canadians come here for elective health care and CT scans and MRIs and cancer chemotherapy.

Michael, it’s often about the wording, whether it sounds good or bad. As you put it, it sounds bad what she wants. But think about it: Now you have people paying a lot of money to get the same level of health care as Scandinavians and Germans get for half of this money. Then you have lots of people paying less and getting less, e.g. expensive sicknesses like diabetes are excluded. And then there are people not able to pay anything and getting either some basic medical treament (from Obamacare or in a Clinton model) or getting nothing at all (in an excessively capitalist Republican approach). Why not giving the same healthcare to everybody? You can’t afford it? Why is that? Why can countries afford it while having the same or an even lower GDP per capita than the US? The USA is the only rich western country where the rate of people dying from easily treatable diseases (like diabetes) is closer to third-world countries than to EU countries. Should that really be the norm? Or won’t it be worth to think about the way handling social issues like the richest European countries are handling it, calling themselves social market economies? Yes, such thing exists. “Social” and “market” can coexist. The USA is spending more money to the military than the next five nations combined. Maybe at least some of this gigantic expenditure can go into healthcare and other sectors to benefit the people? How does it benefit anybody who is sick and can not afford necessary treatment, that the US is spending excessively into weapons? There should be a better balance between the need to help people survive dangerous diseases and the need to defend the country against foreign countries trying to conquer territory of the USA. Could be worthwhile to think about it.
