In a strip publsihed fifteeen years ago, Alex, after seeing the movie Titanic, asked whether she would ever find someone as beautiful as Leo; two days later, she confessed to Kim that Leo was her secret love. So she did find her own Leo, after all.

“Was it his speech impediment or was he nervous?”

Both, I think.

does anyone else feel old? it just seems like yesterday that alex was sweet daddy’s little girl. it just like that Subaru commercial with the dad and the little girl.

The question now is, will the fireworks wait until tonight, or does Mom have some hidden in the bushes?

I have truly enjoyed this series, possibly more than any other on Doonesbury…

to Kali39 from yesterday’s comments. Mike Douglas put so much more out there in the form of entertainment. Stuff I could watch in the afternoon when I got home from school, because at 11:30 PM Eastern, I was usually in the midst of homework or asleep, and Carson was very far away. My favorite shows were those that he had with Spanky and Our Gang (the musical group) on. Thanks Kali39, for getting me to walk down that lane of memory.

I’ve been a Doonesbury fan for years. I’ve been choked up all week reading these wedding strips. Beautiful stuff!

What did Leo do to “deserve” that whining loser? Hasn’t he had enough hard knocks in his life?

Hopefully there’ll only be a first time.

For those who are relatively new to the story — he doesn’t have a traditional stutter. He was a victim of an IED and has a traumatic brain injury that has impacted his speech. This is also why he wears an eye patch. As I recall, he still has part of an iPod embedded in his head.

The very best thing about this story line is that it stopped all the political rants and raves for several days. How peaceful!

Never thought Alex would go for this guy. But, matters of the heart defy all predictions.

I didn’t. I was as calm, cool and confident as it’s possible to be, said my “I do” with strength and conviction because I knew even then, that this one time was all I’d ever need. 12+ years later, still have not had our first argument, but have plenty of communication, and still have romance. Sometimes it just goes beyond being the right choice, to the PERFECT choice.
