The Transparent Cat. A product of GE’s contracts with the defense department. General Electric. A major cog of the Military-Industrial Complex for decades.
Nice retro touch with the old ’70s something TV as well as the pseudo test patterns we used to see on terrestrial TV stations after they had signed out for the night. Cool blast from the past!
I don’t own a tv, but I’ve often wished for a transparent cat so that I didn’t have to peer around at the monitor. Eventually I built a platform above the monitor, and the non-xparent cats would climb up and recline, soaking up the heat. At least in winter. They preferred sitting in front, in summer.

Before televisions got flat and thin, the cat slept on top. They loved big computer monitors and would wait for me to shut down..

Not as useful for reading books, though. They still kept you from turning the page.
The term “television set” now seems doubly quaint.

My very LARGE cat sits right in front of me all of the time, on my desk, so I can’t see my computer monitor….he’s so cute….not!

This cartoon was the first I’d heard of GE.
