This remark is right up there with another classic-“does this dress make me look fat?” ;D

You are a plugger if she’s mad at you for what you were thinking before you got home. She knows.

Never shop for tools, electronics, cars, boots, etc with your wife unless you like to be asked, “What do you need that for?”

Wives can with experience see a mental marquee across their husbands’ foreheads.

Husbands have that ability, as well. I once called Hubby and he answered, “I think that’s a great idea” before I even said, “Hello”.

He knew what I was about to ask him.

My wife and I do that in regards to dinner and lunch. She’ll ask if I want something and most of the time it’s what I was thinking of asking her.

My wife has on many occasions accused me of reading her mind, never the other way around. Another Plugger disqualification.

That’s a description of a Soul Mate. It also includes finishing the other’s sentences, having the same menu selections, etc.

The preamble to her “No”, is “I know what you are thinking and the answer is…”

Actually, my wife is always asking what I’m thinking. They need to know. I’m not sure why.

It’s the gleam in your eye that gives you away.. much like a dog wagging it’s tail when it wants something, you have no control over that gleam.. and a woman can cover a lot of possibilities with a simple, no.

And the reverse is true, your husband has no idea what you said even after you’ve said it ….. maybe even twice!

Been together so long (married coming up on 45 years, engaged 1.5 years before, dated 3.5 years before and knew each other a year and half before that) that sometimes we are not sure whose stories are whose. We can generally anticipate what the other person will say.

On paper we should not be together at all. Different religions, different background nationalities, different family thoughts on women and men roles in life – but a shared love of movies, big band music (both things passed along to each of by our dads) and good senses of humor and patience for each other’s foibles have made it all seem like almost no time has passed. (Okay he is complaining his arthritis a bit lately.)
