I once had a bumper sticker that read, ‘Jesus is Coming! Look Busy!’

Okay. So what’s really the problem? Did he or didn’t he look busy?

One (the best) way to look busy is to actually be busy.

All I needed was a clipboard and a document, with just one task. I could look busy from break till lunch. ;>)

I’m usually extremely busy at work but many years ago there were occasional lapses where you actually ran out of things to do and couldn’t find anything obvious to get on with. Trying to look busy when you have nothing to do is VERY hard. At least for me.

I was busy looking.

Consider this your first warning.

It may have seemed that way, but I was reading gocomics, it’s what I do every day.
