    The oldest version of the rhyme seems to back this up … Four-score Men and Four-score more,Could not make Humpty Dumpty where he was before. And it also explains why the horses of the current version were involved.However the Huff Post gives no source for this conjecture and the Wikipedia page lists multiple explanations without a definitive answer.
