He’s about as mouthy as Dennis was back in the day which would cause most kids to get their faces slapped big time.

When Calvin sneaked into the house, the doorknob and the front door swtiched sides.

There are all sorts of dangerous creatures trying to get in the house.

Last autumn, there was a strip in which Mom saw Calvin leaving the house with Hobbes whom she saw as a doll. Calvin and Hobbes waited together at the bus stop. Mom came to fetch Hobbes from the bus stop after Calvin had caught the school bus. When he was alone again, Hobbes was looking out of the window for Calvin to return as he is at the beginning of this strip.

Someone suggested in their comments on the strip which showed Mom fetching Hobbes from the bus stop that Mom also throws Hobbes out to Calvin when Calvin returns home. Today’s reprint seems to prove that idea wrong as it shows that Mom was coming to the house with groceries when Hobbes pounced out of the front door at Calvin. Hobbes certainly did pounce out at Calvin as Mom sees Hobbes as a doll outside of the house with her in the final panel of today’s strip.

What would posses you to throw your tiger in my face?! But, Mom! You don’t understand! Every day he ROOM! NOW! NO TV OR DESSERT FOR A WEEK!!

At least she is willing to hear the explanation.

The explanation won’t be easy.

A truly funny arc today. Cal almost made a smooth move. Would have been one of his first ever.

And now after trying to say “Home sweet home!”, Calvin is back to the classic “I’m home!”

The concept of Hobbes “really” being a stuffed tiger and only Calvin seeing the real Hobbes still after all these years strikes me as brilliant

Calvin is a little young to be home alone. Mom is not there when he gets off the school bus. Who knows how long before she got back from buying groceries. Some 9 year old girls can be home alone for a short time, but leaving a 6 year old boy home alone will get you in trouble with CPS.

I love the last panel with “stuffed Hobbes” sitting outside the door with Calvin’s mom.

He’s due a fanny warming- – -happy to see Hobbes in action once more.

Calvin’s Mom should have just yelled “Calvin it’s me open the door!” And Calvin would have heard that it was his mom and he would have opened the door.

When, if ever, is Calvin going to be dispossessed of the idea that people besides him see Hobbes as a real tiger?

Hahahaha

Would have been better if mom was on the ground with Hobbes on top of her, and the groceries scattered.

He got the best of his tiger, yet it’s kind of sad.

This one truly had me Laughing Out Loud; disturbing the cat on my lap who is fortunately not a tiger.
