Non compos mentis is a Latin legal phrase that translates to “of unsound mind” (Wikipedia, not me). Pretentious? Moi!?

The founding fathers lived in a situation where they already knew all the people who might reasonably take on the job. And they understood how men acted in their culture… and that anybody willing to take on the job would not only have the good of the nation as a driving motive, but would know themselves well enough to back away if unable to do the job. And of course it was smaller then… and slower. And the clearly expected voters would be unable to form a sound judgment of any candidate.

They never imagined a nation as large as ours, or as diverse, And they never imagined national newspapers, much less radio, TV and the internet. Had they lived in our time, I’m sure they’d have had different rules in place.

@Quixotic1: “In other news, trump invites Putin to attack our NATO allies.”

I can well believe that IF Trump wins the election — and even if he doesn’t — he’ll encourage Putin to conquer Europe.

And if Trump loses the election, he’ll encourage Putin to also conquer the US, fully believing that Putin will put Trump in charge.

Biden proves, on a daily basis, that his mind is shot, and that makes our country less safe. Leaders around the world see him mention meetings with deceased other leaders, that he can’t find an exit off the stage, that he doesn’t know when he was V.P. or the year his son died, and they figure now might be a good time to make a move (China / Tiawan for example), but these lib posters tell us we are the problem. Always projecting on us what evil deeds they are doing.

To define a liberal – A psychosis is a serious mental disorder characterized by thinking and emotions which creates perceptions that are not in keeping with external reality. People who are psychotic have false thoughts (delusions). Delusions are when a person believes things that when examined rationally, are obviously untrue. The predominant traits of the liberal mentality. If you know a liberal, you know a Psychotic. If this doesn’t describe some of the posters on this comment board, I don’t know what would.

When you’re President, you don’t get to play the sympathy card. You’re supposed to be leading 300 million people who each have sympathy cards of their own. So you don’t get to publicly fuss at your staff for not setting up your teleprompter correctly, or for making sure you know which way to turn to leave the stage. You don’t get to petulantly whine when someone points out that you can’t remember the year your son died, or when they call you out for continuously and falsely claiming that he died in combat.

The press calls this “Acting Presidential”. So do the rest of us. Nobody calls it “Joe Biden”.

Here we ga again, the Putin’s Puppet hoax. Did Putin mess with the 2016 election? The 2020? Win one, lose one. If anyone is messing with elections it is the Democratic and they plan to do so again. If found Molly Hemingway’s testimony before Congress on election integrity was riveting television. Never heard of it? If you didn’t then who is suppressing it if not the main stream media. Failing to report the news is even worse that broadcasting only the biased party line.

Gorrel is telling us something we’ve known for a long time, Joe is there in the White House but he’s not all there. And all the Dems have is Kamalalalala. Not much better. But since Biden is governing so well with all these successes because he listens to his team of advisors, then wouldn’t Kamalalalala do just as well being advised by the same team? Time to send Joe Biden out to pasture or to the glue factory.

    Non Compos Mentis:

“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”

“ According to the poll, conducted using Ipsos’ Knowledge Panel, 86% of Americans think Biden, 81, is too old to serve another term as president. That figure includes 59% of Americans who think both he and former President Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner, are too old and 27% who think only Biden is too old.” (ABC News). Here’s how the United States has fared since President Joe Biden took office three years ago: The economy added more than 14 million jobs. The number is now nearly 4.9 million higher than before the pandemic. The unemployment rate dropped back to just above the pre-pandemic low; unfilled job openings again outnumber unemployed job seekers. Inflation spiked to the highest level in over 40 years. Despite recent moderation, consumer prices are up nearly 18% overall during Biden’s time. Gasoline is up 29%.Average weekly earnings haven’t kept pace with prices. After adjusting for inflation, “real” weekly earnings declined 3.4%.Defying expectations, the nation’s economy expanded 2.5% in 2023, marking the third straight year of economic growth. Crime data show a decrease in murders in U.S. cities in 2022 and 2023.The S&P 500 has increased 28.2%.The number of apprehensions of those trying to cross the southern border illegally remains near historical highs. For the 12 months ending in November, apprehensions are up 296%.For the third straight year, gun purchases declined, as measured by background checks for firearm sales. Crude oil production is up 12.7%; imports are up 8.7%.The trade deficit for goods and services is about 20.9% higher. The number of people without health insurance has gone down; enrollment in Affordable Care Act marketplace plans is at its highest point yet. The number of people receiving federal food assistance has declined by more than 700,000.The publicly held debt has increased by about 24.7%www factcheck org/2024/01/bidens-numbers-january-2024-update/

The next thing MAGAts will say, when the facts clearly show that Biden is doing a good job (assuming that they just don’t call it fake news) is that he can’t be doing it. He’s just a puppet and someone else is actually running the country.

No president does the job without consulting with experts on whatever subject is being considered. It would be impossible for one person to be thoroughly knowledgeable on all domestic and foreign issues, as they change from day to day. When a decision needs to be made, I would hope that the president would consult with experts on the situation, not just one but several, and then make the decision he is required to make.I realize that Trump often didn’t do this. I am aware that the experts he met with often reported that he didn’t read reports and didn’t pay attention in meetings, and usually did whatever he chose.

This is considered by some of his supporters as being a macho, shoot from the hip type of guy, their kind of of guy. That result is an often shooting off a couple of toes, literally. Figuratively, it means choosing to destroy whatever Obama put into place, including the agency that might have prevented Covid from getting out of the Chinese province where it originated.

hur is a republican who knows how weak and desperate for loyalty trump is, and he knows if trump sees someone going after his enemies, trump likes them for it.

Biden has been completely exonerated, just as pence has, for the same thing.

The difference is, pence wasn’t the subject of a 300 page report vilifying him, because pence is a has-been. Completely useless and totally ignored now, and nobody can bash him for advancement.

The hur report is an audition. hur wants to be the attorney general under trump.

More correctly and specifically, hur wants to be the attorney general on his knees under trump.

    So it’s settled, then.

Joe Biden is mentally, and cognitively impaired, and he can’t even remember the date that his son died.

Therefore, it’s impossible to believe that he has the capacity to be the money laundering bribe processor that the republicans claim he is, and the republicans can not justify impeaching him.
