I suspect that the act of cursing is universal regardless of language.

The words that I have for El Niño aren’t supposed to be used by kids!

El Niño usually leads to a drier and warmer Winter in the Midwest… Looks as though Frazz has the warmer part at the moment, but not the drier part. Hang in there, Frazz.

The main word we have for “El Niño” is: weather.

Very dry again in California, waiting for some good results from El Niño.

El Niño is a weather pattern named after the baby Jesus, or the Christ child. In South America it is a favorable weather pattern right around Christmas time. In those countries, they don’t believe that Santa Claus brings the presents, they believe that the baby Jesus brings the presents. So that favorable weather pattern right around Christmas time is thought to be a gift from the grace child.

Rained all night here in Wisconsin. It should taper off before noon, but between the 47° on Thursday and the rain, it’s just lawn and leaves like a day in October.

Multi-lingual is good. In the end, when you’re soaked you can’t get any wetter.

Does he really know what El Niño is? And that you can’t just tell if the weather that you’re experiencing is due to an El Niño just by the weather you’re experiencing there at the moment.

Thanks for this cartoon. Grazie. Been working on learning Spanish for years— and it will be a life long labor of fun and love —but I am still pathetic at it. But since I am over 70, something nice to keep the old brain exercising. ¡ORALE!

“You can still use those words.”

And those words have counterparts in Spanish, so if you learn them, you can be even more expressive.

Thirty years ago, when we moved from MD back to NC, I kept my snow shovel & snow blade for the tractor. Still have them, and yet to need them. So I guess the housing boom in my area is partly my fault…

As long as the Pacific plate keeps subluxating beneath the South American one and the volcanic eruptions in the deep ocean resulting therefrom keep it warming La Nina will prevail.
