I’m not sure about tigers, but for cats, a waving tail is a sign of aggression, not happiness as for dogs. Of course, either might make Calvin apprehensive.

In Vegas, that is what is known as a “tell”.

I’ve heard it said that, in stud poker, average players play their own cards, good players play the other players’ cards, and the best players play the other players.

My cat would twitch the tip of his tail as a sign of annoyance. You could almost hear him: “Watch it…watch it..”

Ah, yes. Reminds me of the M*A*S*H episode where Major Winchester keeps whistling opera in a poker game every time he has a bad hand. (Dåmn, I feel old remembering that!)

If they were playing 21, Hobbes would be holding the 21 of Clubs! He could hit Calvin with that one!

The ‘tail waps’ are a giveaway that Hobbes drew to a great hand. Even Calvin can see that.

The author of “The Other Coast” comic had a book of dog cartoons called “Tails Don’t Lie”. Not sure if it applies to tigers.

My sister’s cat was sitting on a tree branch and the cat was swishing her tail as the birds were chirping loudly in the other branches. The cat was looking for the nest.
