I also find Ms. Libris a bit frightening. We probably won’t see Backroom Guy because he’ll be dead, and not for the reason he has in mind.

“You won’t see me again, Lasse, I’m out hunting whales!”

“I mean, you might see my corpse. But that’s not really me, right?”

“Frightened I say. But in an exciting kind of way, you know what I mean. Kind of like you. I bet you could break me in half. You can try if you want.”

yeah, I reckon they’ll stretch this one out till around Thanksgiving or after it…

then we can thank our turkeys that this turkey will be off our plates…

At least we finally have a genuine mystery on our hands, all 4 of them!

Miss Lady might be a good customer but there is something about her which can intimidate a person. Probably her snooty disposition.

Ominous parting words.

First people are complaining because the story jumped ahead without showing how they got from Point A to Point B…..

Now we have a story being well told with all of that background they were carping about and they STILL complain….

Reckon there’s truth to that old line that some people would complain if you hung ’em with a new rope…..

Frontroom guy has currently been identified as an accessory after the fact to murder and theft. Based on yesterday’s strip he is aware he has been identified as as guilty of felonies. Will he try to cover up the crime of accessory after the fact by committing murder, or realize he would be instant suspect in the death of Backroom guy and try and cop a plea deal with the DA?

There are amazingly stupid criminals in real life. (Heck, you don’t even need to be criminal to be amazingly stupid – see Darwin Awards.) “Wow, I’m going to be ten minutes late for school today, I’ll call in a bomb threat so school will get closed. I’ll use my cell phone so they can trace it back to me as the source.” So, I’m guessing Frontroom guy is as big a moron as a murderer who gives the evidence of her crime to a bookbinder.

OMMMMMMinous words. In the meantime, a sinister call was made…

Oh, and I suspect NO ONE’S going to see him again after a while………

She probably won’t see him again if he gets sliced to ribbons outside of the diner.

X wanted the Libris insignia taken off the book when a cover more contemporary was placed on it. Why? Xaveria brought it in six months ago and they still have her case – does that mean they have only recently been able to properly recover it?

Does the fact that there was a Libris insignia on a book that was stolen means Libris is stealing back books that an ancestor had to sell, perhaps to pay some debts? That is, was a Libris family member the one who had Mason & Woods auction off the prayer book to Caxton’s grandfather?

His comment, " You will not see me again", and referring to some comments that the beard/hair etc were not too realistically drawn,,, , to his comment, maybe a disquise?

That Little Old Pressman’s final remark is indeed ambiguous. He could mean, and he presumably thinks he means, he’s splitting and getting a fresh start in South America (or the like). But it could also be an ironic foreshadowing of his impending death by stabbing. Be that as it may, Lee Ebony now has the physical evidence to tie Xaviera to the murder(s). and the smugly arrogant Ice Queen herself is going to start feeling the heat, soon….
