Well, not even congressional republicans are dim enough to actually believe Trump won the election (close, but not quite). But they can’t get re-elected without pretending to believe it, so they pretend. Then, of course, they can’t trust one another, so they maintain the pretense even among themselves.

Once the fifth column destroys tolerance, trust, and respect, it’s easy to defeat a nation from inside its own government to prepare it for an authoritarian enemy’s takeover. Is MAGA just a modern Trojan Horse?

1 John 2:4 ;Whoever says,“I know him.” but does not do what he commands is a liar and the truth is not in that person. John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Dear Jeff, the uline is just wonderful. I watch and read your cartoons everyday. This one stirred the thought, ‘Just give em a chance, but then reality kicks in and al we ever have done is give them a chance and they repay that spirit of good will with McCarthy, Johnson, Gaetz, Green, and the rest of gilligan’s island with about as much success. Could you do a series or arch of what ifs – where you could see us all if these monsters were in jail or exiled or in Russia instead of here. Could do it history bit with them running napoleon, or the revolutionary war, or messing with the civil war back with lincoln or working with andrew jackson or hamilton. I would love to see your logical take on these idiots in history.

    First rule for being Christian:

Post hoc rationalize/justify as necessary to “prove” everything in the Bible is absolutely and always perfectly correct.

If the ftg, the chaos caucus, Little Johnson, et al. have their way—and they’re having it so far—the US will be a tyrannical theocracy. We ordinary citizens might retain the freedom to breathe if we’re lucky.

Don’t they have a budget to work on before they impeach Biden with no evidence?

Totally corrupt Republicans are totally worthless.

At least one of the GOP reps gave out that he/she would NEVER vote for speaker nominee who claimed that Biden lost the ’20 election. And yet ALL of the present GOP reps voted for the ’20 election result denier Johnson. That in a nutshell — and a tiny nutshell at that — tells one all one needs to know about the GOP conference.

You can read a great Salon article that defines him as an Incel and how Republicans are basically becoming Incels. They hate women and want to stick them back into marriages they can’t get out of (ending no-fault divorce), pregnancies that they can’t get out of or that will kill them, and restrict their job prospects. Women being able to control their own futures is one of the worst things ever in these demented people’s minds. When he brags about his wife spending a few weeks on her knees so they’re sore, you know he’s evil and sick in the head.

The United States will succumb to the ravages of religion. The founding fathers foresaw the danger, and tried to forestall it with a constitutional amendment. The Republicans now want to abandon Ukraine, undermine tax enforcement, and send money to Israel. I’m all for Israel’s survival- but democracy itself is under attack in Ukraine. We can defend both if we collect the taxes voted for by our elected representatives. The Republicans are defending tax cheating at the expense of democracy – which makes sense when you remember that they are Trump’s toadies.

The imbecile Mike Johnson believes that the Earth is only 6000 years old. He probably also believes that the world is flat, and the sun and the other planets are flat, and they all orbit the Earth.
