Today’s Republican Party has devolved into the CHAOS CAUCUS.
Seriously? The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who has been in congress SIXTEEN YEARS and has never gotten a single piece of legislation enacted?
The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who a previous speaker OF HIS OWN PARTY (John Boehner) called a “legislative terrorist” who only tears things down and never actually builds anything?
The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who has been credibly accused by multiple accusers of helping cover up a sex abuse scandal while he was a wrestling coach?
The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who was one of the masterminds behind an attempt to overthrow a presidential election? It could credibly be argued that, under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, he should be disqualified from his seat in congress, or ANY position of public trust.
The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who is in contempt of congress for refusing to comply with an official subpoena from the body he now seeks to lead?
The Republican official nominee for speaker is a person who now holds the distinction of having more votes cast against him by his own party than any other nominee of a majority party, breaking the previous record set by Kevin McCarthy last January?
If this is really the best your party can come up with, and can’t even get this loser across the finish line, today’s Republican Party — the CHAOS CAUCUS — is officially incapable of governing.
Liberals sure love overstating the case for GOP faults while ignoring their own many flaws and Mike is a master at it! It is clear to me there is very little praiseworthy about any politician and there is no need to overemphasize faults given that there are so many obvious ones across the entire political specrtum (except I guess for humor as I do like the outrageous Gutfeld). If they were good at their job, how did we we get the mess that passes for federal government?
Karl Rove -Todays WSJ – A Sept. 23 Gallup poll found 56% gave the GOP an unfavorable rating while 58% rated Democrats unfavorably. The saving grace for Republicans is that on big issues, Americans pick the GOP by a large margin.
On which party “will do a better job of keeping the country prosperous,” Americans said Republicans by 53% to 39%, the GOP’s largest lead on this issue since mid-1991. When asked which party “will do a better job of protecting the country from international terrorism and military threats,” Republicans lead Democrats by an even wider margin, 57% to 35%.
Even when voters were asked which party would do a better job “handling the problem you think is most important,” Republicans lead 44% to 36%. This suggests the GOP’s views on such issues as crime and immigration are winners and that the Democratic approach on abortion may not be the surefire hit they think.
Waiting for an apology and a correction anytime now…Headlines have since changed, but the world received the story essentially as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) put it on Twitter: “Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that.” She also blamed Mr. Biden for not coercing Israel into a cease-fire, as Hamas would no doubt like to see.
We can now have confidence that the initial story was false. A White House National Security Council spokesman confirms that its “current assessment, based on analysis of overhead imagery, intercepts and open source information, is that Israel is not responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza.” Israeli drone footage and an intercept of a call between Hamas members add to the evidence.
I don’t know if the USA democratic republic will survive post-1976 RWNJ Christian Nationalism/Libertarian Economics and their melding with tRump RWNJ MAGA.
Whether it does or does not, at some point Rep. Jim Jordan will transition from RWNJ MAGA inspirational “leader” (of destruction of the republic) to one of the most reviled USA federal government office holder in the history of this country.
A list of his detrimental attributes would take more effort than I am willing to expend right now to compile here, but I will take a moment to list everything positive about him:
So tonight the officially elected president of the United States will address the nation, explaining why we, as champions of democracy, need to provide aid and support for the democratic nations of Ukraine and Israel while not neglecting the humanitarian concerns of Palestinians in Gaza. To do that, we’ll need to marshal the resources of the world’s mightiest economy, as authorized by a piece of legislation which, under the terms of the Constitution, must originate in the US House of Representatives. Which it can’t do because that house is in a complete meltdown thanks to people like Jim Jordan. In celebration of this state of affairs, Fanatic Justice Betrayer and Decrepit Misanthrope come here, stroke each other off, and jump up and down for joy that somehow or other this is supposed to make the (to repeat) officially elected president of the United States somehow look bad by comparison.
Does anyone really need further evidence that these guys are either completely out of touch with reality or operating out of the troll lounge in the Kremlin basement?
