“Moms for Liberty” is an ironic choice of a name for a hate group that wants to take away liberty and freedom from everyone else and micromanage every aspect of everyone else’s private lives, including private relationships (dictate who you can or can’t marry or even what behavior is allowed behind closed doors), private medical choices (reproductive choices such as abortion or contraception, medical or recreational marijuana, end of life choices, stem cell therapies, gender-identity care), tell us what books we or our children can have access to, or try to force PRIVATE religion into PUBLIC policy and religious rituals into public meetings or subsidize it with special tax advantages (socialized religion).
Better names for these Females for Fascism:
Crackpots with crockpots
Ku Klux Karens
Minivan Taliban
Book ban Barbies
A “Moms for Liberty” book club would operate more like a campfire.
I think they honestly don’t realize they’re basically Nazis. I think they just DO have those beliefs and when they happen on a quote by Hitler, it resonates for them, so of course they like it. Remember: Ignorance is one of the hallmarks of this political standard.
That so many do not know of the atrocities committed under fascism is just one of the deficiencies in our education system that needs to be corrected. Nor can we continue to not brand hate speech for what it is to protect our children and adults without the skills to discern fiction presented as fact. There is no need to suppress the lies and innuendo of the hateful … clearly identifying it as all we need to do.
If I don’t want my young daughter to be encouraged to question their sexuality, choose a pronoun, and not read explicit books on how to perform lesbian sex acts while in kindergarten , do I have wear a funny little mustache and goose-step around my own home? I think not. If this should happen to our little girl I hope there is an opening at a Catholic school where she can receive a proper education.
Well just like Biden and so many dems Hitler was the one who said they were children of the state, the fatherland not their parents. Most be educated by the state and follow its teachings no independent thought, and when the state has a hold of your children you may look away too
Judging by the rants above, I think this one has really got to the RWNJ. Hitting way too close to home, they have to deploy uber-gibberish to contain it.
Any group that has the following in its title generally operates with some type of ill will towards other humans: Freedom, Liberty, Patriot, Integrity, Prosperity etc…..
I’m thinking that kids that age and most grownups would be very bored with Mein Kampf. Aside from the content, the prose is worse than Ayn Rand and Donald Trump put together.
And that is how hatred and bigotry thrives. One of the most terrifying things about conservatives and Christians is how many think that their hatred is a form of love.
This is a typical Republican ploy that they have been using for decades: t exact opposie of what tehy are doing – a lie in fact – but because it is the name of the group, the press and everyone who objects to them are forced to say the name over and over;. Repetition makes people believe what is being repeated… so here the idea that these women are for Liberty is the lie being spread; it is a tactic which goes all the way back to the 70’s and the “Moral Majority”. It was neither moral nor a majority – but its staunchest enemies were helping reinforce the idea simply by saying its name. This is government mind control par excellence- and people need to be taught to beware of it! The press and everyone else should find a tactic which destroys the efficacy of the this – but it isn’t easy.
One positive here is a mother reading to her child. Maybe a difficult story line, but literacy is paramount. She chose to birth and raise the daughter. Who are we to judge a mother?
Moms for Liberty should come with an asterisk. *Moms for Liberty = Liberty to speak for all mothers. Under the guise of “we believe a mother should decide what their children should read” (which I agree with), they have decided they are the ones who should set the standards. They aren’t advocating for a section in the library that requires parental approval — they are the ones who are deciding what all children have access to. As for age appropriate, what started out as “elementary school” soon turned into banning in all grades.

Yep, pretty much it. Sad state of affairs. People that look up to Hitler are NOT American patriots.
