Our cat spurns mice and goes straight for the rats. He presents them nicely in our dining room.

Teal problem is Agent X should have foreseen this!

Agent X could be replaced by Agent ZED!

This could have gone worse. The Visiting Alien could have been from the Planet of the Mice.

Corporal Mittens was going with a hairball at first, but then thought that maybe the visiting alien leader might not see the humor in a gag gift.

That’s what Earth gets for letting Agent X select a corporal for such an important diplomatic mission.

Actually, coming from a cat, that is thoughtful.

I awoke to a thwump and some unusually muffled feline cries this morning. When I got up, my toothless indoor cat presented me with a dead mouse. I was about as appreciative as the alien here.

But, is Mittens an Earthling? He might work in an Earth space station, but he doesn’t have to be from Earth.

We had a cat who would leave squirrel parts for us. We didn’t know he was showing respect for the alpha cats.

My cat never chases anything. She’s sleeping on my lap now. She’s mostly catatonic.

You have what you treasure. He has what he treasures.

I have always disliked the idea of treating all alike in gift giving. They might treasure different things. My father meant well when he gave me a shotgun when he gave my brother, Howard, one. I didn’t actually want one and Howard could have enjoyed some more sporting supplies. My paperback books weren’t all that expensive so I was already well fixed.

We had a cat (now deceased) who who sit on his perch looking out the window and contemplating catching the birds on the lawn. Fortunately, he rarely got outside.

Corporal Mittens must have never seen the Dr. Who episode “The End of the World.” He could have shared air from his lungs. At least the corporal wasn’t a dog. He could have relieved himself on that branch from the sacred tree.

Our cat brings us dead shrews. I think the invasive species where I am locally, as they seem bigger than the native pygmy shrew.
