I wonder what these people’s stories are. Although I know two homeless people personally and have talked with dozens more, I’ve never pulled over and asked someone with a sign on a street corner.

I’m currently investigating a rumor that this is a form of human trafficking. Their handlers put them in a van, drop them off in the morning, pick them up in the evening and shake them down for their share possibly in exchange for food and shelter.

Yeah, I had stopped at a drug store to get a prescription. There were 2 men sitting in wheelchairs at the end of the drive up window lane. As I watched, both got up and walked into a nearby fast food place…
