If only it was that simple! I used to use coupons all the time and they help.

I don’t use coupons. The things I use do not have coupons. Most of it is convenience foods, no thank you.

The “rule” in my area is that you must hand over the coupons BEFORE they process your order, or you have to save the coupons for next time.

And try, just TRY, using coupons at one of the Self-serve stations. Good Luck baby! I’ll stick to real people, thanks!

Coupons are few and far between now. I use to use them all the time. But now, not many coupons are for the things I buy.

At my nearest grocery store, you go online to load coupons to your loyalty card.

In many cases the store brands are cheaper even with coupon. Store brands are pretty good too. Then there are digital coupons now.

Gone are the days when you could do multiple stacking of coupons. I still sometimes get such deals on experiences websites (e.g. Into The Blue), but they are getting fewer all the time.

Coupons help you IF you use them on items you were going to buy anyway. I don’t believe it was ever a situation where you bought a bunch of items and the store owed you money.

Did she get any actual food? Or just some pre-processed chemically-treated macerated meat with breading?

I saw what was supposed to be a reality show about people who were actually owed money after coupons were applied. I could never find a coupon that could be combined with other coupons on the same item at stores where I shop. That is the only way you could be owed money when you use coupons. You have to find the right store.

I suspect she gave her more coupons for items than she bought. That’s why they normally require you to give the them coupons up front, so they can match the coupons with the items. They don’t want the cashiers to have to think.

Most of the time, the coupons are for things I don’t use. And because of that, I don’t use coupons.

My sister-in-law’s mother is banned from Publix from doing this. The manager told her it was against their rules that they owed her money by using coupons. I don’t know if she’s banned from all Publix stores or just that one.

Stores I have been at have policies that coupons can not be redeemed for greater than the price of the item so they do not owe you because you used coupons.
