At two different antique stores today, I bought two books of New Yorker cartoons, one from 1931 and the other from 1948. So I think I might be suffering from this syndrome, but I’m pleased to say it doesn’t manifest itself as shown here (of course, he and his doctor exist in a cartoon universe).
