Sadly like last Friday, a little over 10 years ago when this ©2008 strip was repeated that year, Richard posted another CdS farewell themed blog entry:

On the down side, she is getting to know her children better than she wanted.

Going by Alice’s face in the last panel, I would say that the syrup is finished……

Mom started it Alice, so she can make up the rules as she goes along!

Boysenberry: the only 2 place I associate with that are Knott’s Berry Farm in SoCal and of course the IHOP which proudly has boysenberry syrup for your pancakes and French toast. I am sure the margarita is tasty though!

If it’s a margarita morning then a boysenberry margarita is the ticket.

Alice likes (or hates) what’s right in front of her best. Petey likes the SQUELCH. Daddy likes that he found a little order in all the chaos. Mom likes that everyone survived relatively unscathed, and she’s enjoying the heck out of that breakfast margarita, cause she deserves it.

What is Petey eating? Is that a single flapjack, cut in half, and separated by a vast barren expanse of picky eater pleasing empty space?

Boysenberry margarita? Is Mom related to Rip Haywire?

My, what a Dirty Face you have, Alice! Looks like as much of that syrup is staying outside as is going inside your mouth. Sloppy eater?

And, BTW, Mom is speaking of just one thing….

Wait, what? Now I want to try a boysenberry margarita! Sounds yummy!!!

So sarcasm and surrealism aren’t mom’s ONLY two coping mechanisms.
