Remember how impressive Hubble’s pictures were? Have you seen the side by side comparisons to Hubble’s?

The ancient fascination with the stars is easy to understand. Night time in Kish. No TV, no electricity. Hot. Neighbours arguing. You go onto the roof where it’s a bit cooler. Nothing to do but look at the stars and try to ignore the neighbours.

Just saw the picture today. “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

The web telescope is an amazing technological feat that will give us great scientific knowledge, but all the breathtaking colors in the photos are fake. Like old colorized 1920-1930s movies. The pictures are just NASA marketing; and I’m a big fan of NASA.

We need to kickstart NASA. Lots of great technology developed out of the program.

An online buddy from Scotland posted some absolutely mindboggling pictures he took from his (±$15K) backyard observatory. To my eye, just as amazing as the ones from the Webb.

Most stars have satellites like Earth orbiting then. Many are known to be in an orbit, again similar to Earth’s in relation to our own star. We are not alone and we all better get used to that idea….

We have so much light pollution that you can’t see many stars at night.
