How much blood of children needs to be shed before TrumpubliKKKan blood lust is finally satisfied?

How many more innocent school children (and church goers and shoppers and concert goers and, and, and…) need to be offered up as human sacrifices on the blood-spattered altar of gun manufacturer profits and bribes to legislators before enough profit has been made that they can decide that the lives of actual children also have value?

“Thoughts and prayers”? Thinking and praying but DOING NOTHING is a blasphemous heresy against any deity to whom those thoughts might be getting prayed.

Pro-life? I don’t want one word of scolding by cruel, heartless, bloodthirsty TrumpubliKKKans wagging their moralistic fingers in our faces and lecturing us about “babies” when the only thing they really want to do is micromanage the private lives of women and they don’t give a rat’s patootie about real live children who have actually been born.

Until “pro-life” TrumpubliKKKans decide that they love their children who have actually been born more than they love their guns — their precious battlefield weapons of mass killing designed to kill as many human beings as fast as possible, with which they compensate for their other inadequacies — the epidemic of firearm genocide will continue unabated.

Not very likely. What’s far more likely is more people will go out and buy more guns. Gun sales always go way up after one of these types of shootings.

Republicans say pro life and won’t support gun control. Say Family Values and won’t support baby formula bill. Say they are Christian and preach hate for others. Say Biden won’t do anything about gas prices but won’t support cap on prices. Many won’t support helping Ukraine. Many spout Putin propaganda. They say they are patriots and hate everything America stands for. MTG even opposed a bill to bring back a marine imprisoned in Russia. AH Cruz tweets fake sympathy for the dead in TX and won’t do a thing to help stop it.

NRA meets this weekend in Texas. It opens with a half second of pretend sadness for the victims of whatever will be the latest mass shooting by then. Featured speakers include Trump, Texas Governor Abbott, and Ted Cruz. Audience will be full of “pro-life” advocates who will applaud calls for more people with more guns to protect more people from more people with more guns. Because that’s working so well.

Oh, and loads of concern about mental health. Mirrors should be distributed.

How many pieces of papers do you want to throw at crazy ppl and evil criminals ? None will stop this, common sense, school safety ( maybe we could use some of those billions from covid that the teachers unions and school districts are hoarding and not spending ) to secure schools. Cause you guys seem ok protecting your money at banks and your shopping mall but not children. Maybe we start applying the laws already existing, maybe you stop creating victim children telling them that all and any anxiety, bad thing in their life’s is everyone else’s fault , maybe you stop pushing self destructive behavior on the youth, and hate, maybe you say something when you see something instead of getting giddy when something like this happens cause you are gonna get to virtue signal on a comics comment page . Both parties and all of us have a hand on this and the solutions which are simpler than you think.

Anyone who continues to support the NRA and block sensible gun regulations and background checks is as guilty as the people who pull the trigger. I wonder, would they feel differently if it were their parent/spouse/child who was murdered, or would their ridiculous principles still win?

The gun zealots (not including all gun owners in this group) want to have armed security in all schools – many have suggested to block the money slated to go to Ukraine to pay for it.

This ignores the 2 police officers injured in Texas and the security guard killed in Buffalo. Both of the shooters wore body armor.

The real blame lies with the mixed up minds of persons who have been diluted by personal problems, social media, in born jealousy, family issues, copy-ism, and selfhate! Just look at those who have committed these type of crimes? Certainly, mentalillness is another cause. Guns can also be bought off the street! In every such terribletragedy the the shooter has been on the brink of such action!

FWIW I counted 15 cartoons by international editorial cartoonists on the Cartoon Movement site today on the US gun carnage. All of them were appalled at US violence. And we like to think of ourselves as leading the civilized world? In gun homicides and incarceration rate, we certainly are #1.

When I was in high school in the early ‘60s the school had a rifle range and sn NRA sponsored rifle club. One of my friends talked me into joining. It was target shooting and safety. I quit after a couple of years. It was totally benign and kind of fun. I’ve never owned a gun. I’m disappointed in the way they changed.

Will anything change? No. Did anything change after Sandy Hook or any other of the countless shooting since? No. 50 US Senators and their cult don’t want anything to change. Their answers to gun violence are more guns. They’re just fine with mass killings. It’s the price of political power. They won’t risk upsetting the NRA or their cult voters. Since you’ll never stop all mass shooting you might as well not do anything is their answer. You hear people saying that this isn’t who we are. Well, to way too many people, this is exactly who we are.

In kind of taking Ammosexual’s (and a few others) side, the question is: “Why place the burden of the actions of a few miscreants on the backs of many law abiding gun owners?” He’s right. I’ve stated before that maybe it would be better to determine how knowledgeable the gun owners are about the types of weapons they choose to own and gun use safety and safe storage practices than to know how many guns they have. Perhaps having to prove before purchasing a weapon, the potential buyer has to show that they’ve taken an approved course gun safety and provide proof of ownership of at least a gun locker, if not a safe.

On a similar note, I was surprised by a news item on KOIN TV last night of the number of gun thefts from automobiles that are occurring in the Portland Metro area. Interestingly, it included that lockboxes and safes that are available to use that can be installed if a person thought they had reason to keep a gun in their car, but either don’t know they are available, or are too cheap. How would a potential thief determine if a person kept a gun in their car? just look for the “trump” stickers and worn and torn out US and confederate flags on their vehicles.

Warren E. Burger, Conservative Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court wrote an article in the January 14, 1990 issue of Parade Magazine, page 4, and I quote: “The Gun Lobby’s interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime. The real purpose of the Second Amendment was to ensure that state armies – the militia – would be maintained for the defense of the state. The very language of the Second Amendment refutes any argument that it was intended to guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon he or she desires.”

IT’S MORE DANGEROUS TO BE A SCHOOL CHILD IN AMERICA THEN A POLICE OFFICER!!!

FBI data found that in the first four months of 2022, 17 law enforcement officers were killed by gunfire in the line of duty. Of those 17 deaths, the FBI defined 16 as “felonious” — meaning the shots came from someone committing a crime or a civilian who accidentally fired a gun. The agency defined the 17th death as “accidental.” The FBI has not posted preliminary data for the month of May.

The Officer Down Memorial Page has recorded 21 on-duty law enforcement officers who died by gunfire this year as of May 25, with one of those deaths being accidental. It has recorded two gunfire deaths in May, neither of which were included in the FBI’s data.

As of May 25, the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund has recorded 20 firearms-related officer fatalities in 2022.

That puts on-duty law enforcement officer gunfire deaths between 17 and 21 so far this year. That’s less than the 24 children who died in school shootings this year.
