I love the drawing of Dot View in the first panel.

Apparently, they had a “short break” while they redesigned their set. They made a tiny change to the logo, too. It looks slightly less “50s” with the new starburst.

I guess Dot smoothed things over with the producers. Everything looks happy now with the inimitable Tonsils. (inimitable: “so good or unusual as to be impossible to copy; unique.”)

Drug pusher to local daytime TV. A step up, I guess.

Tonsils, or Matt, really came up into the world didn’t he?

The guy who makes a living imitating another guy is inimitable?

Some question about vocabulary here. Inimitable means so unique it cannot be imitated… But Matt isn’t Tonsils, so his whole schtick is an imitation. I wonder if Mike is being deliberately ironic with the word choice.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CALL HIM MATT!! This woman is beyond help, she’s going to turn in to the next crazy killer in Tracytown!

It’s a morning show. So I guess Dot View was clinging to an old format, a variety show like what Mike Douglas used to host. Now it has to be talk, news, and, a little entertainment thrown in.

ASTRO: AMAZING! You only had a 50/50 chance. DOT: Well, they’re both Aces actually.

See today’s “Back to B.C.” for a strip originally published 11-11-64, with a clever reference to Chester Gould. Read the comments there for an eye opener – most of the folks there did not have a clue what the joke was, even if they Googled “Chester Gould”.

(Johnny Hart was probably pushing back a little bit, as Gould was making fun of the “minimalist” drawing style of comics strips such as “B.C.”)

So her show got moved to a morning slot and Tonsils is the co-host. Now I wonder…can he walk and chew gum at the same time?

All over Tracyville druggies are staring at their screens and saying “Hey …. I know that dude!”

Arrrgh! NO! No! Not Matt the Drug Pusher as “co-host”! GAH!

I will no longer view The Dot View Show, ever, so long as McCullar is on it. Dot is not just spacey and weak-willed, she’s looney!
