Natural immunity takes a majority of the population dying off for a number of generations, but that’s okay by Bok’s way of not thinking.

In fact, natural immunity AFTER BEING VACCINATED is better than either alone. Note that vaccinating after isn’t as good.

Count on Bok to distort the truth.

Baghdad Bok peddling RW conspiracy theories as fact, and forgets to take in the immediate effects of death and hospitalizations, along with long-term effects.

If that’s the science, and apparently it is, the vaccine is worthless for people with natural immunity. So why ignore the fact, and why not update our vaccination policies accordingly?

Even were it true, it means you’d have to get COVID to get that immunity. Why do people think that’s better than getting the shot? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

Talk about “misinformation”! This toon is so blatantly false that Chip Bok should be ashamed of himself. Natural immunity protects you against the Covid variant you caught and suffered through. If a new variant evolves, which we all know, except Chip Bok, it will, you will be just as vulnerable to that variant as as anyone else. If Chip is really claiming the CDC is saying this, let him prove it!

Meghan McCain fumes at ‘reckless’ Sarah Palin

Meghan McCain called Sarah Palin “stupid, reckless and arrogant” for eating in public — not once, but twice — after testing positive for COVID-19.

The political scion and former host of “The View” also told The Daily Mail (where she has a regular column) that she was “embarrassed” to have once called the former Alaska governor her friend after her recent anti-vax turn, a particularly biting comment given the fact that her late father, Sen. John McCain, had chosen Palin as his running mate during the 2008 presidential election.

The entire saga began earlier this week when Palin was spotted eating out at a swanky Italian restaurant, Campagnola, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side — a confounding situation given her very public refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine and New York City’s strict vaccination rules. The very next night, she was seen at another fancy Upper East Side establishment, Elio’s, dining indoors alongside four other people.

With public fascination concentrated on how she gained admission to both establishments, The New York Times revealed that she had tested positive just days before traveling to the city for a defamation trial against the paper, a detail that emerged when she requested that the trial’s start date be pushed back.

A manager at Elio’s, Luca Guaitolini, later admitted to making a “mistake” in allowing Palin to dine indoors, saying that the staff was investigating and wanted “to get to the bottom of this.”

“Is she crazy? Day two?” McCain fumed. “I haven’t seen her or talked to her for many years, aside from some short emails when my father passed, so I can’t imagine what she is thinking but this is highly irresponsible.”

But by all means runaround without a mask and hope to catch COVID.. plug up the healthcare system and prevent granny from getting her hip replaced.. you are an American afterall, with rights.. to be an idiot.

My wife and I are triple vaxxed and just recovering from mild colds that tested positive. The person who infected us is also triple vaxxed. Interesting though that otherwise healthy non-vaxxed among us are not experiencing any worse symptoms than the vaxxed.

Drs. emphasize that those who are in the hospitals have very significant underlying health problems. Some, because of their health issues were not able to be vaccinated.

We should all choose what we believe to be right for ourselves and stop trying to dictate to others what they should or should not do.

The big trouble with natural, or herd, immunity is that so many folks have to die. If we could get the lions share of the population vaxxed, we could get to herd immunity. But, your thinking, and the thinking of most of your supporters, is that vaccines are evil, so no vax, and no natural immunity. It’s your own thinking that’s killing us, Chip. The CDC was well aware of the natural immunity, but realized that so many would have to get Covid and survive, leaving so many to get Covid and die. It was better to push vaccines so people could be saved from Covid deaths in the first place.

Just remember, they can’t vaccinate you after you’ve been admitted to the hospital for a severe case of Covid.

I have to wonder is Bok vaccinated? Would definitely make him spreading harmful antivax propaganda more egregious. Otherwise, perhaps he will be someday joining the list on SorryAntivaxxers, admitting they made a mistake and wishing they had gotten vaccinated right before they die from Covid. Or is he one of those so entrenched in the cult that he will deny it’s Covid that’s killing him and blame the doctors and nurses that are trying to save his life.

Any Doctors and Nurses that have to deal with antivaxxers BS while trying to save their lives, and more so trying to save the lives of others that don’t have Covid while dealing with the idiots, have my sympathies and my deepest respect. We can’t and likely don’t thank you enough. Thank You.

To follow up on @StackableContainers, this is a shameful distortion. Here’s what the AP said:

“A new study released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that people who were both vaccinated and had survived a prior bout of COVID-19 were best protected from infection.

“The study…found that unvaccinated people with a past infection were a close second. By fall, when the more contagious delta variant had taken over but boosters weren’t yet widespread, that group had a lower case rate than vaccinated people who had no past infection.”

So: —vaccine immunization + past infection have afforded better protection than either one alone; but —past infection alone did better at the height of Delta and before vaccine-immunized people got boosters

Leading not to the conclusion that natural immunity is better than vaccines, but that natural immunity may last longer than vaccine immunity (which is why boosters are needed) and that natural immunity + boosted immunization will likely afford the best protection.

My conclusion is of course an inference from limited data; but unlike Bok’s, it’s not a dangerous lie.

In fairness (not to Bok, who doesn’t deserve it in this case), here’s a more nuanced (how could it not be?) critique of the CDC’s handling of questions around natural immunity and vaccines: https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-high-cost-of-disparaging-natural-immunity-to-covid-vaccine-mandates-protests-fire-rehire-employment-11643214336

The RW fatalists/defeatists willfully surrender to Covid-19 without trying to save their own lungs/lives by using orthodox peer-reviewed proven vaccines that exponentially improve their chances of avoidance/survival. This malicious disinformation-based perception is now deeply ingrained and no amount of messaging/statistics/reality will persuade them to feel otherwise. Hopefully, their children/grandchildren will be spared.

Go do some damn math, Bok. Bust out a simple Excel workbook and plug in how many hospital beds in your area, population, infection, hospitalization rates and death rates. Don’t forget to take into account your (no doubt) anti-mask stance and see how fast the hospitals in your area fill up which means, drum roll please, rationing of healthcare (death panels) and people dying at home. It’s not complicated math, you can look it up online. F*ck you to suggest I should get a deadly disease with potential long term consequences to you can scratch your “own the libs” itch.

sigh The reality is it’s not that simple. The CDC hasn’t done anything to try and conceal studies comparing different types of immunity; in fact, they’ve sponsored a lot of them, and it’s factored into their advice about vaccination and how long people need to quarantine after exposure and whether and when to get boosted. (Latest advice for people who have recovered from covid is I think that they could benefit from one dose of one of Pfizer or Moderna, but only if they wait at least 90 days after recovering.) The real question isn’t which gives you stronger immunity — it’s how much immunity you can get for what level of risk. The vaccine has vanishingly tiny risks, while the disease itself kills about 2% of the people who get it and causes long term symptoms in many more. I know which one I’d prefer.

Natural immunity wasn’t very effective in preventing 50,000,000 deaths by the Spanish Flu in 1918 nor when over 20,000 people were afflicted by polio before the Salk vaccine was administered universally with only 10% of new cases afterward.
