Beware the human mosquitos (Homo-culex repubfasciatus) that in addition to sucking the lifeblood from Democracy, inject brain-fever conspiracies, propaganda, and fascist parasites. “Quick, Henry! The Flit-ibuster!”
For the last few decades Republican Party has been basing its appeal and power on The Four Horsemen: Ignorance, Fear, Anger, and Hatred. Just look. The one thing you won’t find is a positive vision for America.
If the republican party was a movie or tv show, I would be laughing my head off. However, since this is real life, I just feel sad & angry. Also, so very perplexed about why so many folks support them to their own detriment.
The party (formerly Republicans, now Trumpist) has no plans other than to make cowards afraid of phantom evils. The Democrats have actual policies, though you may not agree with them. This is America, the land of the brave. At least it used to be. This year’s elections will let us know if it still is. If the Trumpist’s win we should call it America, the land of the fearful!
Now, fear is the Repub tool for winning elections. You remember: fear of immigrants; fear of welfare moms; fear of gun control; fear of taxes, just name a few. You and yours use fear all the time, while we Dems highlight the good our nation can do if we join up to do it together. Repubs focus on the negative since negative thoughts are easier to promote and can get the fastest response. Dems take the harder road of pushing the positive aspects of our nation. These aspects are shared by the majority of the nation, but the Repubs know that fear is easier to illicit and motivate the nation’s voters.
Mr. Goodwyn, is your head perpetually in the sand or up your a$$? Or do you alternate? Have you considered that spreading this sort of bull pucky is costing lives?
Why is it that you progressive/marxists project your thoughts and actions to someone else? You do know that we can see the actions you take; they are playing out in front of us every day. Just because you deny your actions, doesn’t mean we believe you.
Pure projection. Conservatives thrive in an environment of FUD (it’s a psychological thing: The more you worry, the harder you hang on to “what you got”). So of COURSE they want you to fear the party in power… unless they’re the GQP, of course.
Fear is the Republicans’ stock-in-trade. It’s all they have. No platform, no governing, no initiatives. Just protect the wealthy and the ignorant. (Use fear to convince the latter they’re in constant danger.)
Why do republicans hate Public Health? Because idiot Trump didn’t understand it so they must follow their murderously stupid leader to sickness and death.
Goodwyn has the wrong guy carrying this needle. Actually most newspapers don’t have enough ages to print the images of the fearmongers out there ranging from Trump, down to many of the folks running for anyone of many offices for midterms and the talk radio hosts, etc. In truth, political dialog these days has devolved to a theme of “Elect me because my opponent will destroy everything that is holy and good.” This holds true for both parties, unfortunately. Chicken Little vs Chicken Littler.

Recent Republican* voter ID laws include election nullification.
To be used whenever a Democrat wins.

That works for me. I’m sick and tired of Republicans destroying the world and profiting off of it.

CARTER IS COMMING FOR YUR GUNS
MONDALE IS COMMING FOR YUR GUNS
OBAMA IS COMMING FOR YUR GUNS
BIDEN IS COMMING FOR YUR GUNS
No fear mongering there?!?!
But Trump saying " why don’t we take the guns BEFORE a court order" that is perfectly acceptable

In the Alternate Universe, facts are always fearful. The preferred mode of communication is wild conspiracy theories and bogeymen.

How about a cartoon about TuckyoRose pushing traitorous Russian propaganda on Fox Noise and in Russia.
I didn’t come up with TuckyoRose, but really wish I had. :)
